Today I'm chatting with owensmom34, a Toddler Mom and owner of the Thirtysomething Moms group. I just joined this fun group for it's lively and relatively drama-free discussions, including topics such as 30 year old moms still living with their parents, weight loss tips, and the debate over pacifiers.
Oh, and FYI: You don't have to be in your 30s to join. The group welcomes moms of all ages.
Other group features I love?
The daily "Topic Today." Some recent ones have included:
Here's my get-to-know-you chat with owensmom34:
Tell us about yourself!
I have been married to my wonderful hubby for over 13 years and we have four kids (ages 11, 9, and 3 year old fraternal twins). I've been a stay-at-home mom for 10 plus years. I enjoy being home with my kids, but do miss the adult connections that work provides. My older kids are active in a variety of sports and my little ones will be in preschool this fall. When I have some time to myself I like to scrapbook, read, play piano, and of course chat on CafeMom.
Why did you start the group?
I started the group because I noticed there wasn't a lot of groups for moms ages 30 plus. For me, I have found this group has been a great way to connect with other moms in the same age bracket.
But I get questions from time to time from moms that would like to join my group and they are not in their 30's. Any woman may join my group regardless of age or other factors. This is an open group.
What's the goal of your group?
For moms to have fun, make friends, and enjoy themselves. I hope to add more features to this group in the future. I have started an area where we can discuss books, add recipes, or chat. It's just a fun, informative group where moms can come together and talk about anything and everything.
A daily topic, monthly birthday board, thirtysomething celebrity mom of the week, book club and member of the week posts are just some of the fun things we do in our group!
