It's time for a Mom Confession — because, let's face it, we're real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books say it should.
This Week's Confession:
I use my kid's flushable toilet wipes.
We bought some of those flushable Kandoo toilet wipes for our toddler son who was, well, not doing a very good wipe job on his own. They work marvelously, and we always keep a supply on the back of the toilet for him.
One afternoon, I was using the toilet and realized we were out of toilet paper, and there was none in the cupboard either. So I reached for one of my son's wipes. Well, it was pretty nice — all moist and soft, and I felt so clean! Now I use his wipes the time. -- anonymous
We all have secrets and opinions — so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation non-judgemental!

They make adult flusable wipes too! We've been using those in our household for a couple years!
Are these things septic safe? I've just started potty training, and I don't want to screw anything up!
And yes, we've been known to use the "grown up baby wipes" LOL
We can't flush ANYTHING other than maybe 4-5 sheets of toilet paper at a time. However, we still keep wipes in the bathroom. They're for everyone. I'm sorry, but you can't get really clean with just dry paper... and as a woman, a quick cleansing wipe can be refreshing since - let's face it - our parts can get kind of gross.
(Note: Just because stuff says 'septic safe' doesn't mean you should flush it. It can still clog your toilet, the entrance to the septic tank, and the pipes.)
Those things are yucky, we don't use 'em.
I used to feel bad at first when i used my kids wipes. But i have to agree. They do feel oh so good on the rear. I also agree that it is a lot more sanitary....i always use wipes on my son because i used to wipe his rear and saw what was going to be left behind if i didnt use the wipes.
I like getting the kids wipes better than the adults wipes. They feel nicer and (not like you scent matters with where you are cleaning) the kids wipes have a fresher and prettier scent than the adults.
I'd rather they use a flushable wipe in the bathroom than *ahem* it showing up in the laundry! You know you agree;) lol!
nothing compares to being so fresh and so clean clean ;)
I love using them. My 7 yr DD is the only one who doesnt use them. I use them and so does 3 yr DS and hubby. DS wont let us use toliet paper cause he doesnt like how rough it is. If he has me wipe him he always say's "Mommy use the soft stuff. " I feel so much more clean using the wipes.
We use the adult wipes for my potty training DD, (and I just read this to my husband because I thought it was hilarious, and he admitted to using them too. lol) and I use them when mother nature makes her visit. Any more often and I feel guilty for using DD's stuff. lol
Although... now that I know I'm not the only one, I don't think I'll feel so bad. lol
