It's time for a Mom Confession -- because, let's face it, we're real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books say it should.
This Week's Confession:
My husband and I are going to Disney but are leaving my toddler and baby with my parents.
I have a 2 year old old and a 9 month old. We bought a family package and were going to take both of them, but now my parents are offering to babysit so we can really enjoy ourselves. At first I didn't even consider it, but we have never been on a vacation by ourselves. We didn't have a honeymoon, either.
I will feel kinda guilty going to Disney without my 2 year old. She would really enjoy it. But it will be so nice for the both of us to hang out like we've never done before. -- anonymous
We all have secrets and opinions -- so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation non-judgemental!

I dont know if I would do disney without the kids, without having taken them first. I would love to go just me and my husband but a big part of the appeal for me will be their faces, so I would want to take them at least once first.
Moms & Dads are people too! lol... just because we have children doesn't mean we've given up any HOPE of having some grown up only fun. I've never had a trip without the kids because I have no one to leave them with - but if I got the chance I'd be gone, lol...I adore my children, but I"m pretty wild about my hubby too and some free fun time with him sounds like absolute heaven!!
I don't get it. I'm ALL for mom and dad time, but seriously going to Disney without them?
My husband and I have been wanting to go to Spring training for the Brewers and wouldn't take the kids even though they would have fun. I would go to Disneyland probably before I had kids but now that I have them I would kinda feel guilty not taking them along there.
I wouldn't want to take my 2 year old to Disney...I'd go without him. LOL Maybe when he's older, he'd appreciate it more and be less of a "2 year old"....
Of course, if I had a chance to take a hubby and I only vacation, it probably wouldn't be to Disney....
My Dh and I have been to Walt Disney World more times than I count. We have also taken our daughters. We are invited to a wedding in Fl so we are taking an extra few days to spend time just the two of us in Walt Disney World. It is a wonderful place for couples if you are Disney fans.
Going to Disney without the kids seems selfish to me. I would never go without my little one.
That just seems silly. Why don't you ask your parents to watch them sometime next year and take a trip to somewhere like Hawaii or a short cruise. Not that adults don't have fun at Disney, but I would spend the whole trip thinking about how much fun my kid would be having. I would leave the 9 month old and take the two year old, just personally.
My hubby and I plan to leave the kid(s) with my parents/ his parents in a few years to go on a cruise. We also didn't really get a honeymoon.
they seem young for Disney anyways. .. so yeah I'd go & have fun. I"d take the kids again when they were a bit older & could enjoy it more :)
Enjoy!
