I have never let our children sleep in our bed at all. To me that is my space and the children are not allowed in our room. hubby and I do occassionally sleep naked but those nights we ensure the door is locked. I stopped allowing my son to see me naked at all at age 2 because he became interested in all the body parts. Hubby used to shower with him but that ended at age 3 when he kept comparing genitals. I do not think it is appropriate to be naked in front of or in visual view of your children after they turn 2 or 3.
There is nothing wrong with being naked. A toddler is not going to think it's weird unless the parent makes a big deal out of it. We co-sleep and I sleep with a nursing tank and shorts on, but I bathe with my (17 month old) son all the time. Being naked doesn't have to be sexual. I think it's crazy how bent out of shape people get about it. It's so puritanical.
My son does sleep with us. I sleep in a muscle shirt and panties. My husband also sleeps in a muscle shirt and underwear. My son is the only one that gets away with nudity in our house. I think that it is very inappropriate. That is just how I was raised though. If I had a nice body I might like nudity more lol!
I sleep naked, but when my 2 year old son decides he needs to sleep with mommy and daddy I at least wear a pair of panties. I'm breastfeeding my daughter, so topless is always for now. My son still showers with his father or myself, but sleeping naked to me is a no no at least with a boy. I am not sure how I will feel about that with my daughter when she is older. My Dh wouldn't be sleeping naked period my daughter sleeps in our room. And no my toddler wouldn't be allowed to sleep without pjs he has been known to take his diaper off and yeah he isn't pissing and crapping up my bed. LOL!
I think its totally fine as long as everyone is comfortable with it. My mom slept naked in bed for as long as i can remember when it was hot out....i was probably 16 my brother was 11 and my sister 6 and we all saw my mom naked and dad in his boxers. In europe they make no big deal about these things and they have less issues with nudity probably because of it. I think its perfectly fine.
I don't sleep naked but my son does see me coming out of the shower or getting dressed. But I think he is even pushing the age gap with that. But I see no problem with it.
there is no problem with a toddler sleeping in the bed with you while your naked so long as they arent aware of what your body parts are or they are trying to touch them. my daughter would used to get in the bed with me while i was asleep naked while my hubby was overseas but since he has been home if we sleep naked we do not let her come to our bed. i dont feel compfortable with my daughter sleeping between me and my naked husband infact recently i just started making hubby wear underwear and i will wear a shirt and panties to sleep because she now pinches my breasts and tells me I GOT YOU MOMMY! yea i dont like it and im trying to get her to stop now. and she has asked me what daddys parts were just from him walking into the shower naked lol and i have decided she is older now we need to be more careful. she is 2 and a half and we have stopped letting all of that fly. but as long as you are no doing anything more then sleeping and your child is not pointing and asking questions then its harmless
My best friend and her family are nudists and she grew up in a nudist family. She and her family have a very healthy attitude about their body image and they know that naked does not equal sex. Nudists have no hangups about that, like us textile people do. We would all do ourselves a favor by teaching our children that our bodies are a beautiful creation and not to be ashamed of it by always covering it up. I know that our society doesn't see it that way. I'm just giving you my opinion aas I hear it from my nudist friend.
Me and DH sleep naked and DD (2) has been having trouble sleeping and she'll crawl in bed with us. Sorry not putting clothes on since its hot enough in our bedroom at night. Plus nudity is only sexual if you make it sexual.
