It's time for a Mom Confession -- because, let's face it, we're real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books say it should.
This Week's Confession:
I once made an excuse why my kids were in trouble so they would have to go to bed early that night and I could get a break! -- anonymous
I've told my toddler it was bedtime when it was really an hour earlier so I could put him to sleep and watch my favorite TV show. -- anonymous
Do you tell little white lies to your toddler for the sake of getting a much needed break or restoring your sanity? Is fibbing about bedtime really that bad?
We all have secrets and opinions -- so thanks to these brave moms for sharing their honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation non-judgemental!

I say, "Mommy needs some down time, so you guys are going to bed early." Or, "Mommy needs some down time, so you guys are having quiet time reading, playing DS or watching a movie. If you cannot be quiet, you can go to bed." I don't see anything wrong with needing a break, but don't make them feel like they've been bad so you can get one.
i have sent my kids to bed early alot lately! they are 3 and 20 months. i have been super tired and stressed lately. i give them their bendryl (cause they both have a nasty cold) and they are usally out within an hour. only downside to them going to bed early is they get up early.
It's not their fault. We asked to be parents.
