It's time for a Mom Confession -- because, let's face it, we're
real mothers and sometimes it doesn't work the way the parenting books
say it should.
This Week's Confession:
"My kids have had pizza for breakfast. At least they are eating something and have food in their stomachs. I would rather feed them a non-traditional breakfast than have them be hungry!" -- anonymous
"I give my toddlers chicken nuggets and french fries first thing in the morning if they want it." -- anonymous
"My kids eat fish sticks for breakfast." -- anonymous
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that good habits start early. Will this practice ruin your toddler's chance of developing lifelong healthy eating habits? Do you let your toddler eat anything he wants for breakfast?
We all have secrets and opinions -- so thanks to these brave moms for sharing their honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation non-judgemental!

KIDS NEED TO EAT STUFF THAT WILLHELP THERE BRAINS WORK.MY 4 YEAR GOS TO SCHOOL AND WITHOUT AN REAL FOOD IN HIS BELLY HE CAN ''T DO HIS CLASS WORK SO I GET HIM UP EARLY TO EAT AN GOOD HEALTY BREAKFAST. LIKE SOME FRUIT OR AN BAGLE WITH EGGS .ECT
IT'S FOOD ;YOUR STOMACH DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS!
Dr Sears says that toddlers are known for their random moods for food. It's completely normal for a toddler to want "lunch" type foods for breakfast and breaskfast for dinner.
I wouldn't feed my daughter fast food. She RARELY gets any type of fast food, let alone for breakfast, but have fed her quick foods and she has had pizza for breakfast if she wants it! Hell, my elementry school had a breakfast pizza option that was delish! :)
If it gets a child to eat, so be it! I am lucky, mine loves cereal yogurt and eggs. All very simple breakfast items haha
Oh please! Pizza is an okay food and if that's your biggest confession you're a "five star" parent!
If you put limitations on everything then they will end up seeking it out more.
i actually saw on the news once/maybe it was somehting like rachel ray or something but a family actually did dinner type things in the am and did breakfast type stuff for dinner. they were perfectly healthy. i've also seen that it is better to eat leftover pizza than to eat nothing.
I don't even like pizza for breakfast lol.. but i don't think it's the end of the world
I never got who made up these rules on what is considered breakfast food and what isn't. We have always eaten leftover cold pizza for breakfast. It was always a treat. I do the same with my kids. We always order a huge amount of pizza (for 3 adults and 4 kids) so that there is leftovers for a few days.
The next morning the kids go right for it. I live for cold pizza for breakfast.
I don't think it really matters as long as they get protein and some carbs in the morning. I am not a fan of feeding my kids sugery sweets in the morning. It's crazy that we define breakfast foods as just cereal, eggs, toast, etc..As long as they eat a well balanced diet 3x a day with snacks in between, they be ok
