3-Year-Old Wants Cupcakes for Dinner & He Won't Take No for an Answer (VIDEO)

LOL 13

cupcakesThere's a running joke in my house that if you're standing in the rain with our daughter, she will still find some way to convince you that it's really not raining and you're not really getting wet. Somehow I have given birth to a world class arguer, but I'm not alone! A video that's going viral of a young little debater putting up a convincing argument to his mom that they should eat cupcakes for dinner has me in stitches because, finally, I have proof my kid isn't the only one who will argue about anything.

Of course, the fact that Linda Beltran's 3-year-old -- who sounds like a little old man as he tells her, "Listen, Linda!" -- is cute as a button makes the video all the more hilarious. Just take a listen:

When Mateo said, "Linda, honey, honey," I think I almost died! It's funny how kids will pick up on the words we use to reason with them ... and parrot them back to us in an argument, isn't it? And by funny, I mean it's hard to keep a straight face!

My 8-year-old recently told me I was "skating on thin ice." It was all I could to do to remain serious and respond that I'd take it under advisement, but she still wasn't going to get to watch a movie when it was bedtime.

Good for Linda for maintaining ... I don't know if I could have gotten through that whole thing without at least a snicker or two. But man, does my heart go out to her. She's got a pip in her house!

Do you have an arguer in your house? How do you handle it?

This video is entertaining right now (because it's not my kid) but imagine this lip in a few more years.  :-/

I don't find this very funny. Looks like he is copying his dad patronize his mom. Mom needs to give more pop pops!!

Nancy Corp Seip

This precocious little tot is funny and adorable, but Mom needs to somehow get control over a 3-year old. I don't think 'pop pop on the butt' is the way with him. He's just the cutest and brightest little guy.

Melinda Powell

Yeah, looks like he sees this sort thing on a daily basis and he just copying what he sees, monkey see monkey do !! Too bad the Mother doesn't have better control of him or maybe this is just a faze he is going thru.

I was going to say he's copying his dad. Don't call. Rout for this but in MY experience Hispanic men are controlling and do not listen to their significant other if it's not what they want to hear.
I am a caucasion women that married a Hispanic man 37 years ago. That abusive relationship lasted 4+ years. During this time the only people I was allowed to associate with were his family and friends all Hispanic. And because I have 2 children with him I have been involved in the Hispanic community all their lives. I also dated 2 other Hispanic men through the years so I do know what I'm talking about.
This little boy needs women to sit down with him right now and teach him women are equal to men even if dad, uncle, brother, cousin and grandfather say different.
I pity his future girlfriends if this is not stopped now.
Watching I felt like I wanted to give him a pop pop too.

That second sentence should say; Don't call me out for this...

I don't find this funny in any way, shape, or form. That kid would be in his room after the first 30 seconds not only for calling me by my first name, but for constantly interrupting me and not listening.  Irritating little twerp.

It's a freaking cupcake. I want to know why she didn't offer anything else for him to eat. You guys are making him look like a brat but all I saw was a hungry child. Even though he asking for a cupcake, it was still food.

I find this horrifying.  That is a problem in the making right there.  If I had called my mom by her first name or acted at all like this kid is, at any point in my life, I would have been in major trouble.
