7 Free Things People Give My Kids That I HATE (PHOTOS)

little girlDoes it seem like everywhere you go these days, people want to give your kids something? From the bank to the grocery store, it seems someone is handing my kids something every time I turn around.

Oh, I know it's all well-intended, and much better than them being rude to my kids or even banning them altogether, it's just that ... I HATE all of this crap. It winds up left in my minivan, washed through my washer, or piled up somewhere in their bedrooms long after those first fleeting seconds of joy it brought.

I don't mean to be ungrateful. And yes, I could just decline their kindness, but that's easier said than done when the offer is made right in front of a toddler. Here are seven of the frequent freebies we get and why they irritate me so.

What free things do people give your kids?

ya i hate the lollipops. my toddler is only 18months and people give them to her all the time & then I have to take them away and hear her cry.

Honestly, none of those bother me. Kids will be kids, messes happen.

^^for real. Lighten up and put it in perspective. People could be giving your kids pills, sharp objects... convincing them to wander off... if you don't like the crap, seriously just turn it down. We don't take goody bags from parties because yes, they're a headache, and it's our right to say no thanks. But if you don't have the balls to just turn it down, it's kinda silly to bitch about it.

Wow...I swear some people will complain about anything. You complain when people ignore your kids but if someone is nice you complain just as much. If it's that big of a deal don't accept these things. Good lord. Is it really that complicated? Or do you just never feel complete without having something to bitch about?

You really sound charming. You know some parents actually like other people in this world and the " free lollipop" thing or goodie bags are a thank you, they were always the best part as a kid, but by all means , raise another stuffy, snobby brat like you... We really need that in this world .

How about saying a polite "no thank you"?

Because a bitching about it is so much easier than saying no thank you @billsfan - ridiculous

Really? How about you let your kid have fun and be a kid? I LOVE that he gets this stuff...and I help him learn the proper way to use it all (and he takes his stickers off his clothes before he takes his clothes off...novel idea, eh?)
