Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer has been through a lot in her young life: Two babies, one of whom has had developmental problems, two marriages, a divorce, and now another baby. As the new season of Teen Mom 2 gears up to start on November 10, we finally see Leah telling Aleeyah and Ali, her twin daughters with ex-husband Corey Simms, that she and current husband Jeremy Calvert are expecting another baby.
"Mommy's having another baby," she tells her two little ones in the preview. It isn't clear how early it is in the pregnancy, but we do know that she and her husband have just announced it to the general public as well.
See below:
When children are as young as Leah's, they can't possibly grasp the concept of another baby and what that is going to mean for them. My daughter was 18 months old when we brought her brother home. At the time, she didn't understand what was going on. She was a baby, even though we felt like she was a big grownup.
We told her about the baby and had her put her hands on my belly, but she definitely had no clue what was going on until there was a baby in her house, taking her toys. Even then, I am not sure she totally got it.
So what is the best way to tell kids? I'd say just the way Leah did it. Straightforward and honest. The younger the kids, the less likely they will get it anyway.
As for Leah's decision to have a third baby now, I guess it isn't my place to judge, and you know what? She will be glad in 15 years that she got it over with. If she had waited a few years, she would have one in diapers and two in school. Having them closer together will be a good thing.
I am so excited for the new season!
Do you think Leah told them well?

She is currently pregnant with her third child, due sometime this winter with husband Jeremy.
a miscarriage and a termination are two different things one happens naturally usually do to an abnormality or infection while a termination is medically induced. Leah's kids are school age now so they get it a bit more than say a 22 month old does
Yeah, a termination and a miscarriage are completely different. I didn't terminate my pregnancies... I had miscarriages. SHE had a miscarriage.
Good luck to her. All I can say. Shes still so young. Hoping it goes better with Jeremy than it did w poor Corey. Wish it had worked out with them but her actions clearly showed her immaturity. Hope she's got herself together now before bringing another child into the world.
did anyone see the look on coreys face when leah said she was having a baby? he was like "ohh god...." I dont know if she told corey in private before she told the kids but if she didnt then she should have told him and then told the kids about the baby
Termination isn't miscarriage. Get it straight.
I have to argue with the oppinion of the journalist.... i have an 11 yr old an 8yr old and a 1 yr old... and i LOVE the age gap!!! when i had my kids close together i felt overwhelmed and felt like i couldn't give each child all the attention they each needed since one was a toddler and one was a newborn they had diffrent needs at the same time. it was CRAZY!!! haveing the age gap is WONDERFUL!!!! i can give each child the attention they need because the older children don't need as much constant care and so that leaves me being able to meet my babies needs... the age gap couldn't be better! I really wish i would have had 5 years between each child rather than 3 years between the two younger ones and then 7 years between the two younger ones. but i love it!!!
