'Teen Mom' Maci Bookout Buys Her Son $150 Jeans

Say What!? 48

Maci Bookout BentleyMaci Bookout has always been a bit of a fan favorite as far as the stars of Teen Mom go. She always seems to put herself out there for her son. But her decision to buy little Bentley a pair of designer jeans for his birthday makes you wonder if she isn't putting herself out there a little too much.

Maci put up an adorable photo on Twitter this week of Bentley's little behind clad in a pair of True Religion jeans. She paired it with a self-deprecating joke about how spoiled the little guy is and an "early happy birthday wish" for the toddler.

She's right. The type of True Religion boys jeans Bentley is wearing in Maci's photo can run as much as $156 at Nordstrom or $150 at True Religion's own site.

For little boys jeans? Really? As one of those moms who would love to see the designer kids clothing industry shuttered, or at least brought to heel, I think that's obscene.

I don't care how much bank Maci is making from  MTV, spending that kind of cash on a 4-year-old is spoiling them. And it's rather pointless.

Let's start with the most obvious problem. Kids grow. Fast. I have quite literally bought my child an item of clothing only to have it be too small a week later. Spending big money on their clothes is a big, fat waste.

Not to mention the fact that kids are messy! I've always been glad to see Bentley running around on TV or in Maci's photos. He's a kid who actually gets to play hard, which is how it should be. But that's awfully hard on clothes, especially fancy, expensive clothes. Kids shouldn't have to worry about ruining something that cost a gazillion dollars because their parents were too concerned with making a splash in public than using common sense.

Besides, the demands for designer clothes will come from the kids soon enough. You might as well save your money for the dreaded teen years.

What do you think of Maci buying Bentley designer duds?

In 5 yrs she will be broke! She should try putting that kind of money away in an account for Bentley instead of buying him jeans that he could care less about! Hes 4! A 4 yr old does not care about the brand of jeans they are wearing!! Shes just immature.

So now your judging a mom for buying her kid designer clothing? What if you bought your child an 150$ toy, it's gonna get broken in no time so I don't see what the big deal is. If she has the money for it why not. It's her life, her child and she knows how she is raising Bentley.

Honestly, who cares?! It's her money to spend and not anyone's to micro manage. Who is to say she bought them anyways? Maybe a family member bought them. I saw the same picture she posted not on Twitter and she didn't specify that she purchased them. Give it a rest. It's not like Bentley's closet is full of these jeans, it's one pair.

I think she can do whatever she wants, it's her money. we've seen she's responsible with her finances so if she wants to buy something expensive once in a while, for his son or for her, I don't see a problem. Yes, the kid wil probably break them, or grow up fast and won't be able to wear them anymore, but it's his birthday, and it's her son. So it's fine for me =)

For the love of god leave her alone!! It's her money, let her do as she pleases. I read what you write about these moms and you are a very judgmental individual that obviously takes pleasure in putting people down and being negative. It doesn't matter whether you think something they do is ridiculous or great.

???? Oh OK ...but when your 12 year old comes home and tells you that a 12 girl in her grade is telling people she is pregnant. We need not wonder why that 12 isn't freaking out...Is she  thinking oh I can play dress up with my baby and maybe land a TV show out of it...

I am beside myself for all concerned.

Relieved that my daughter is applaud by the entire thing especially the part about..."how is she gonna raise a baby, she's 12 ?" her concern is for this classmate (not even a friend) and the fate of this rumored baby. This show send the signal it not just OK to be a teen mom...it is Awesome! next big hit  "PRE-teen MOM"????

They wouldn't make them that small if they weren't meant to be boughten for small children, like Bentley himself! && I am sure 1,000 other mothers do the same for their kids like Maci, back off.
