Potty-training is no picnic. I have never met a mother who enjoyed the process. In fact, it is the one thing most of us appreciate unsolicited advice about.
Though, one Utah mom could have cared less what anyone thought when she decided to potty-train her twin girls at a restaurant -- in full view of other diners. Talk about an appetite killer.
Most of us stick close to home during that short but crucial period when our toddlers are figuring out when they need to go. Mother of three, Kimberly Decker, who witnessed the incident, says she didn't venture out for several days while her son potty-trained. So imagine her shock when she sat down to a nice meal and watched as this incredibly inconsiderate mom stripped her kids down in the middle of the dining area and plopped them on portable potty seats that were perched atop chairs.

"They were sitting on what I thought were booster seats," Decker said. After doing a double-take, she realized -- to her horror -- what was really going down. "She had to undo the jumpsuits and take them all the way down," she said. "They were completely nude with the jumpsuits down to their ankles, eating their chicken nuggets, sitting on little toddler potties."
Decker snapped a photo of the bizarre scene as she and a friend looked on in total shock. Apparently diner staff didn't notice what was going on but a spokeswoman said they received several complaints and that this probably violated health codes. No kidding! That is the last thing I want to see as I munch my roast chicken and swig down a fountain soda.
I just don't understand some people. Parenthood is both a right and a privilege, but that doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want. This was so not OK. This mom should have just stayed at home.

Last I checked, restaurants still have restrooms. I think this is disgusting. It is a health violation, inconsiderate, and rude. I don't let my daughter run around the house nude, I sure wouldn't want her to be nude in public. That is just teaching them that it is ok to be indecent. It may be inconvenient to have to get up and take the kids to the restroom, but it is the RIGHT thing to do.
This is just gross! A baby going in a diaper is not nearly as bad because its contained and half the time no one even knows when they go but this striping down a kid and letting them go at the table! That's wrong in more ways then one! She could have just took them to the bathroom ever so often that's what i have to do with my son.
Oh, the many, many, many, many things wrong with this. The woman was crude, rude and all out crazy to think this is appropriate. Yes, as the book states, everyone poops, but not in public at the dinner table. No, potty training at the table in public is not the same as breastfeeding in public. Sheesh, you can cover your breast while you're feeding. Everyone knows what you're doing, they don't have to see it. Stripping down your toddler in public and allowing them to potty on training pots in a public place is just wrong. One of the big things you have to teach children is appropriate public behavior. Take them to the bathroom, again, everyone knows what you're doing, they just don't have to see it. On the other hand, the woman who took this pic of the naked toddler was also in the wrong. Complain to the manager, complain to the mother. Don't snap a naked pic of someone else's child and put it out for the public to see. And shame on the news media, including this site, for distributing this pic, regardless of the childs face being blurred. You should be ashamed.
THIS IS SO SO WRONG. ONE DOES NOT EXPOSE A CHILD IN A VERY PRIVATE MOMENT..WHAT AN AWFUL MOM....SHAME ON YOU MOM...
I would have approached the mom or had a waitress or waitor approach her and ask her to stop. I would not let my kids do that at home because it is unsanitary, so I would not want to see that at a restraunt. I would not have taken a picture though. I am poop training my 3 year old and potty training my 2 year old. We go places but my 2 year old gets a pull up and I take extra clothes and wipes for my son. If he has an accident we rush to the bathroom. I try to keep an eye on my son when we are out so I see the moment he starts showing signs of having to go.
hmmmm....the fact that the SANCTIMOMMY took the time to snap a photo of the "offense" and run around blabbing about it shows a lack of MATURITY and compassion on her part! Why not ask the mother of the twins about why she was potty training in this manner...i certainly would have. then again i realize that there is often more going on in other people's lives than we know.
EXAMPLE - THE NEXT TIME SOMEONE CUTS YOU OFF IN TRAFFIC, TRY THINKING THIS THOUGHT "PERHAPS THAT PERSON IS RUSHING TO THE BEDSIDE OF A LOVED ONE WHO IS INJURED" AND THEN SAY A PRAYER FOR THEM.
THAT'S DISGUSTING!!! Where in her brain did she think this was okay?!!! I'm surprised no one got arrested for indescent exposure of a minor! Seriously get carryout and eat at home!!!!
That's disgusting. I worked at a restaurant once, and a lady one time actually changed her toddlers poopy diaper in the middle of the dining room, right on the same table that the rest of her family was eating at. Wtf is wrong with people! Smh
