Potty training. With both of my children firmly out of diapers, I can finally type those words without heart palpitations, but it's taken awhile. The road to diaper-free children can be a long and brutal battle for sure, but it doesn't have to be.
One thing I learned potty training two children is that the more choice they have in the matter, the easier it is for everyone. Potty chairs are one area where there are plenty of choices, and if they like the equipment, the more likely they are to use it. Fortunately, there are a whole host of cute and innovative potty chairs out there to please any toddler. Here are five to consider ... or let them consider.

That Bjorn is not hugely expensive, but is very easy to clean. If you want to get one of this style, I recommend it.
In the end though, my kids liked the regular toilet. We got the same seat as a PP mentioned, that you can just pull down a smaller ring for the kids and it flips back up and regular toilet seat. Also much more pleasant for any adults who use the room. It's not expensive- $15? And so much less cleaning!
I'm glad that they showed the Princess one. If I can't find a cheaper one with arm rests, then I will have no choice. My middle child has a cast around her upper body and has to have something to hold onto to get up by herself. With two other children, when we start potty training I may not be able to help her when she is done. She also won't be able to climb up to the regular potty
I think kid potties are a waste of money. I had one for my oldest and it actually made it ahrder on me b/c once he got used to the little potty, he didn't want to transition to the big potty and I had to train him all over again! We got a soft potty seat with a built-in step stool from One Step Ahead. Had to get that one b/c it was the only seat that fit on my elongated toilet, but it's an awesome seat. It has handles and the step doubles as a footrest so their little feet aren't dangling. It's more comfortable for them to sit on and they can get up and down relatively easy. We love it!
We had a potty chair that was a "3 in 1"...Coudn't use it as an adapter because once its on you practically have to pry it off. It was a pain in the butt to clean. The only thing it's good for is a step stool. I bought an adapter for the big potty and a nice little potty hook to hold it and I wonder what I was ever thinking using a little chair.
we did not use a potty chair or training pants. we went right into underware and the big potty, my dd was trained at 33 mo and my ds at 24mo(in one day right on his bday)
we had one that was bright and had buttons he could mash for sounds lol anything to get him trained
potty chair was mostly useless to us...he potty trained at age 3 and we used the regular potty
my son started playing with his potty chair around 9 mo. I introduced it so he wasn't scared of it. He did awesome when it was time to "use" it!
