When is a video of a toddler singing incredibly disturbing instead of incredibly cute? When the toddler is singing a song called "Ain't No Homos Gonna Make It to Heaven."
In church. Where an entire congregation is cheering him on, shouting words of encouragement like "That's my boy!"
Incredibly disturbing doesn't begin to describe it, actually. It's heartbreaking to watch this little boy (who's apparently 3 or 4 years old) stand up there in front of all those people at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Indiana, wearing his Sunday best, proudly belting out the hateful homophobic hymn.
Of course the child has NO idea what he's saying.
So what's the rest of the congregation's excuse?
Simple: They don't have one, because there is no excuse for brainwashing a child with this vile sentiment. I'm frankly not surprised the pastor has been getting death threats since this vid went viral.
And still, some members of the church don't see a problem.
Among their responses (anonymous, of course) to the public's outrage:
"The people who are upset just don't read the word of God. If we don't teach the children the truth early they will never learn."
What Would Jesus Do if he heard this song? Cry.
Are you shocked by this toddler's homophobic hymn?

You are no better than you accuse them of being.
I wonder the same thing! What would Jesus do or say or think? According to everything in the NT he would NOT be down with this behavior. I consider these people and any like them Christian in name only.
This is their way of life, these are their beliefs. Just like you shouldnt tell a gay person they are wrong for being gay, you shouldnt tell any person they are wrong for their "religious"* beliefs. it works both ways. I dont see articles condemning Muslims for their ways of life, why so much hate for "Christianity"*
* (Im using quotations because no true Christians should hate anyone)
@floridamom - show us a video of jacqueline burt singing hate songs about straight people and i might agree with you. until then, i think you're incorrect in that statement.
it's a free speech country, and people can say whatever they want to say. the bottom line though is that this is teaching hatred - NOT love. i don't know why it's so darn hard to get through people's heads.
i've read the bible. yup, it sure does say those things about men laying with men and women doing the same, so on and so forth. you know what else? the bible was translated by man. even if it's the word of God, you don't think it could be misinterpreted somewhere down the line?
that argument aside, even if you believe 'homosexuality is a sin' (and you can, that's your right) there's a big difference in just believing it, and threatening other folks with fire and damnation if they don't "see the light". (what happened to "kill them with kindness"?)
i'm pretty sure the bible also says to 'love thy neighbor', and i'm pretty sure God was thinking a little more outside the box than just the folks who live on your street.
So if it's their belief that gays should be corralled behind electric fences, the government should take over the task of killing them, you should punch your child if they exhibit any "gay" behavior and good grief any of the other hate speeches made from the pulpits in the last month and that's "What Jesus Would Do"? To twist a favorite phrase used ad nauseum by "good" Christians, we don't hate Christianity, we just hate the practitioners that twist and cherry pick the bible to support their hatred and prejudice.
The author is condemning to hell these people who are condemning homosexuals to hell. Exactly what is different about that? Nothing. It is exactly the same thing.
I don't know, I almost think this should be considered a hate crime.... and really, I know the whole "free speech" thing and all, but I do think there should be a point where a line should be drawn, and teaching children to hate really might be that point, and there is such a thing as "inciting a riot". I just don't know anymore, I'm glad I'm not the person who has to be the one to make these decisions, because I do enjoy my rights and all but again, there has to be a point where there is such a thing as right and wrong, and being able to hide behind the constitution still doesn't make a wrong a right....
Hmmmm....Floridamom, is your church going to be the next YouTube viral video of hate speech? Cause you are awfully touchy on this subject, even a little defensive maybe? Hitting a little too close to home?
