Mom Confession: I Love Getting Away From My Kids (VIDEO)

Mom Moment 10

coffee shop confessions

Ok, so CafeMom Studios just launched this awesome new show called Coffee Shop Confessions, and I'm already hooked. And I'm not saying that because it's hosted by Andrew Shue (who can resist Billy from Melrose Place?).

I'm loving the concept because there's really nothing better than hearing other moms say things out loud that you feel inside, but may not be willing to admit. Every Friday, the show will feature one anonymous confession from a real mom, which will then be discussed by the mom panel -- Alex McCord from Real Housewives of New York, Timberly Whitfield, and Julia Knight.

Episode 1 premiered today, and the confession featured was a real doozie. One mom admitted that while she adores her kids, she also loves going away alone on business trips to indulge in a little bit of "me" time to relax and unwind. Can I get a huge Amen?

Don't get me wrong, I love every single second I spend with my son. But I value my alone time just as much, and I believe it's 100 percent necessary for maintaining my sanity. There's nothing remotely selfish about wanting to have a little time alone to enjoy a full night of uninterrupted sleep, a couple glasses of wine, and a good book, or just curl up in a fluffy hotel bed, order room service, and watch what you want to watch on T.V. all night. Every time I get away even for a day or two, I come back recharged, calm, and feeling like a better parent.

Watch Episode 1 of Coffee Shop Confessions in the video clip below to see if the mom panel agrees!

Im with those above! I hate being away for work 40 hrs a wk . So i savor the time i get to spend with my baby.. After she goes to bed i have about 2 hrs before i go to sleep.. That's my me time!

I'm a stay at home mom of four--- and I love getting away for a bit. The longest I've been away is three nights, though, for a school conference. I have a couple of bad sleepers and sometimes a night of hotel sex and sleep is just what the doctor ordered.

I enjoy taking a little bit of time for myself. I thin that after I give so much of myself to everyone else I desert a little "me" time. I love my kids and they mean the world to me. The longest I have ever been away from them is one night but thats enough. I feel rested and recharged when I come home.

First time I was away from our twins overnight they were 6 weeks old and it was with their grandparents. It was one of few times I was away from them overnight. All times were with their grandparents and most were becaure of my needing time away for medical reasons. That being said, have to say that while I did appreciate the time away I REALLY enjoyed being back with them. BTW, they are now 32 and are both parents themselves.

Being away from my 6 year old girl more than a few hours is horrible, we miss each other and I love playing with her, and yo to watch her, it's not stressful to me
