Nahla Aubry Sports Most Brilliant Toddler Shoe Trend

by Julie Ryan Evans on February 28, 2012 at 1:08 PM

ChoozeshoesNahla Aubry, daughter of Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry, is one of the cutest kids in Hollywood. Of course, she's blessed genetically on both sides, but her trendy little style-savvy duds put her over the top on the must-watch list of Hollywood's toddler set.

Typically, I look at the clothes of Hollywood kids and sigh with longing ... about all of the things I could buy with the money they spent on just one piece of clothing. However, when I recently saw Nahla wearing her new kicks in People, I squealed because they are simply amazing. In fact, they may be the most exciting pair of shoes parents of toddlers have ever seen ... even if you never buy a pair.

Called Choozeshoes, they are pictured above. See how one is purple, and one is pink? Guess what? They're supposed to be that way. All the shoes this company sells DON'T MATCH. How brilliant is that?

The implications here are huge, people. Sure, the ones Nahla sports are all kinds of adorable and complement one another, but fashion is all about pushing limits. Now, when I can't find my daughter's other shoe (which I NEVER can), I can just grab any old shoe and claim she's being trendy. No more running up and down stairs, crawling under seats in the minivan, and searching high and low for the perfect match; perfection! Any old left or right will do, and your kid can look like a celebrity too.

Even better, the company sells a few adult styles as well. If we can only get some celebrity moms to kick start that trend, then I'll have a great explanation when someone points out (once again) that I'm wearing two shoes that don't match ... besides my standard excuse that I was too frazzled trying to get my daughter out the door to notice.

Do you think this mismatched shoe trend is brilliant?

Sure.....if you want to pay a lot of money just to look like a crazy person. Nobody is going to think a non-celebrity did that on purpose.

Most likely, people with think you are either crazy, or poor (or both).

Keeping up with your baby's shoes isn't hard. I've never even lost baby sock, and my son is 2 years old.

My daughter has these shoes and loves them!  Mind you, she is 3 and also loves pink & purple mismatched Little Miss Matched socks.  I guess I should be happy that even though her socks don't match and her shoes don't match, at least her socks match her shoes.

My son only has two pairs of shoes (Crocs and Chucks) so I've never had an issue with mismatches.

Eh, this trend bothers me. I wouldnt want my son to wear two different shoes (oh wait, we DID have him wear mismatched shoes, when he was dressed as a toddler hobo "will work for candy" on Halloween!)

Both of my kids and I have several pairs of Chooze Shoes and we all love them! It seems that the point is to get kids and adults to think outside the box, be open to new ideas and have a creative outlet of expressing oneself. Yes you could just throw a random right shoe and a random left shoe on, but the soles won't be the same and could leave you off balance. Chooze Shoes are really comfortable and they look really cute on!

For the price I would rather buy my boys a pair of Yo Gabba Gabba Vans. A lot cuter then this silly idea!!

This is a cute idea. My daughter is 3 and her "style" is to wear 2 different socks with 2 different shoes. Sometimes I just wish she would match them, but I usually just let her wear them how she wants to.
