Toddlers have the strangest little brains. The ideas they get are often unimaginable to the adult mind, and their outlook on the world bounces between the truly funny and the extremely frightening.
They follow their passions and instincts, which often lead them into places that are both precarious and flat out crazy. Take Noah Jeffrey, a 3-year-old from Australia. The boy was recently found inside of a toy vending machine. He wanted a toy, and rather than get one the traditional way -- paying and playing for a turn at trying to get one -- he went for the sure thing, and climbed inside the machine after what he wanted.
A generous sort, according to the Herald Sun, he began handing out toys and candy to those around him during the 10 minutes he was stuck in the machine.
Fortunately, his mother finally was able to lure him out with the promise of another toy, and the company says it's going to be put a bar on the machine to prevent others from following suit. But the fact is there is no toddler proofing the world when it comes to their crazy ways. Here are five more crazy scenarios toddlers get themselves into.
1. In other vending machines.
Noah isn't the first kid to climb into one of these types of machines. Turns out it's not such a wacky idea (for toddlers), and several others have gone before him.
2. In potty predicaments
You'd think as much as they run from toilets when it comes to potty training that this wouldn't be an issue, but there are always a few a little too fascinated with the machinery. Whether stuck in a toilet or found with a toilet seat stuck one's head, potties can be precarious.
3. With washing machine woes
The laundry room is full of dangers for toddlers, especially those who like to crawl and climb. Removing a toddler from a machine can prove a lot more difficult than removing stains, too.
4. Partying in the pantry
It's a more logical destination than most, but the damage they can do in a short time with a little food is mind-numbing. Remember these toddlers who got into the flour? Shudder.
5. With strange things in their nose, ears, and mouth
Sometimes instead of getting stuck in something crazy, they stick something into a crazy place on their body. Putting beans in your ears or biting the head off of a snake, hey why not? says the toddler mind. They world is theirs to absorb ... sometimes a little too literally.
This all serves as both an important reminder that we must keep an extra careful eye on these crazy creatures we call toddlers ... and also as a recognition that we can't possibly anticipate their every move.

Just the other night my 2 year old told me her nose hurt - she's had a cold so I looked in her nose to clean it out and there was a DIME in there! I am usually really good about keeping small items out of her reach. Spare change goes in a jar on the top shelf in the kitchen, all jewelry is hung up or placed in my jewelry box on my tall dresser, etc. I am not even sure how it fit as she has tiny little nostrils! But I got her to lay down, put a little vaseline around the insides of her nose and had to pull it out with tweezers!!!! I'm so glad it came right out as that would've been a very random thing to take her to the ER for, btu I would've of course.
I swear my child is going to give me a heart attack by age 4...
Maybe people should watch their kids and they won't end up in these types of issues. :|
Good Lord lizzeh, I'm sure your kid is perfect and you are the perfect parent and none in your family do wrong.,..baha get a grip. ANYWAYYYYS My Liam got his head stuck inbetween the slats of our railing on our deck. I have NO clue how it got there, but it took a lot to get him out!
0twinsmommy6, lizzeh is prob not even a mother. I'm very watchful and over protective over my kids but I could prob come up with some times one of more of my 4 have done something like this. Peepl just have to find a way to complain ps your little boy is cute!
My 2 yr old just recently had a melty bead extracted from his ear. We were all watching TV on my bed, setteling down for the night. My daughter had brought in her little heart she made with these beads..it was already all melted...and my son promptly started to disassemble it...in big chunks at first. As I noticed he wasn't giving me the pieces anymore I took a closer look and there he was, breaking each bead apart... I was grabbing them all up off the bed, and he had one left in his hand. He was trying to pretend he was putting an earring on...just not his earlobe...and he had it balancing on his ear. Before I could get to it, he tilted his head and in went the bead.
-So its not always about "maybe people should watch their kids". Toddlers are quick sometimes despite you looking right at them. that whole scenario happened in less than 2 minutes, the last bit happening in seconds.
Other interesting spots we found him - ontop of the refridgerator eating a banana when we were moving into the new house.(he climbed out of the pack n play, moved a chair to the counter, opened the cabinet net, and climbed on up...),, stuck between the two pieces that hold wine bottles on our mini bar thing that is always empty, and somehow he managed to get stuck under the couch lol. Not sure how that one happened...I had to pee and came out to just legs under the couch and screaming
