It's not nice to laugh at Santa when he does a faceplant. (It is, however, impossible not to crack up hysterically at the sight.) Of course your kids are more likely to scream in horror than collapse in giggles if they see an ersatz St. Nick tumble down the stairs, or off the roof, or through the wall ... after all, how could Santa possibly make it down the chimney with his arm in a sling?
Unfortunately, sometimes Santa does indeed lose his footing. Particularly when he's been hitting the Christmas cheer a little too hard, if you get my drift.
Here are some examples of spectacular Santa fails, along with handy suggestions of how to explain such sticky scenarios to your kids ...
I guess it's a good thing that the car broke this Santa's landing. "Pay no mind to all that noise, kids! Sometimes Santa's sleigh has a bumpy landing. Noooo worries."
The kids in this video don't actually sound all that upset by Santa's tumble. More like amused. "Don't blame me if you don't like your presents. That Santa, he's a jokester."
I'm not gonna lie, this one is ho-ho-horrible. Good luck turning this into a teachable moment. "You know how Santa sees you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake? Well, surveillance cameras kind of do the same thing."
I don't know why or how Santa got the idea that rappelling is a good way for him to make a grand entrance, but clearly he's not in the right kind of shape for this stunt. (And that beard is just a hazard.) "See kids, that's what happens when you eat too many cookies!"
