Holiday TV Guide: Everything You Need to Know So You Don't Miss Rudolph!

holiday christmas specials tv scheduleThe holiday television shows start earlier and earlier every year, don't they? In fact, if you're not reading this until after 8:00 p.m. EST, you may be missing How the Grinch Stole Christmas, right now! I know! I almost did, and our holiday season would have never been the same. Sure you can buy the DVD or download it, but there's something about racing to the television together with your hands full of Christmas cookies as you watch Charlie Brown discover the true meaning of Christmas again ... and again.

Don't let the season of classic cartoons and warnings that you'll shoot your eye out pass you by; check out this year's holiday TV guide and set those DVRs ASAP.

Don't forget the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on November 29th on CBS!  I know, it's not a kid's show, but it's a holiday staple in my house lol

My favorite is The Puppets Christmas Carol. I watch it every year. I know the already had it on the Hub, but I'm sure they'll run it again at least once.

Stink!! Our favorite JUST ended. This is what I get for not being on The Stir 24/7. Good thing I have "Grinch" on DVD....

I really wish they wouldn't run these things so early. Thanks, though, for listing them. I've noted our other favorites (thankfully, most of them are running on network TV, 'cause that's all we have!) so we don't miss them. Even though we have the videos, they seem more special if they're on TV. I dunno why.

And to answer your question... my all-time faves are The Santa Clause, and Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I'll be watching those multiple times this year, usually while I'm wrapping. After all these years, they still crack me up!

You are forgetting all the other awesome Rankin/Bass claymation Christmas shows! The First Christmas Snow, The Life and Times of Santa Claus, The Little Drummer Boy etc etc. ABC Family generally has marathons of all of them every other weekend or so in December. I think I finally managed to DVR them all after 2 years of trying to get them! Now I just need to finish editing out the commercials and burn them to DVD so they stop chewing up my DVR memory! :)
