katie holmes suri cruiseOf course Suri Cruise is allowed to choose her own outfits. With her sense of style, why shouldn't she be? Not to take away from Katie Holmes, who is of course lovely and usually very well-dressed, but Suri is clearly THE fashionista of the family.

Personally, I think kids should be allowed to pick out their own clothes and develop their own sense of what works for them. I always let my kids choose their own clothes (weather-appropriate and clean are the only things I care about), and at ages 10 and 6, I can assure you that they get way more compliments on their ensembles than I do!

Examples of little kids with great senses of style are everywhere these days, especially if you're talking about celebs. In fact, I even caught Gavin Rossdale on Chelsea Lately the other night talking about how he tries to emulate whatever look his sons Zuma and Kingston are rocking, because it's usually cooler than what he puts together on his own.

And don't even get me started on the uber-hip Jolie-Pitt clan. Adorable!

Still, I think Suri is the front-runner for kid fashion icon. Because, most of all, it's clear that she loves, loves, loves dressing up. And practice makes perfect!
