Ebony Jackson and Joshua RendonIt doesn't come as a huge surprise that former 16 and Pregnant stars Josh Rendon and Ebony Jackson-Rendon aren't doing the best job ever raising their 2-year-old daughter Jocelyn. But the reality is so much worse than we ever imagined it would be. As a mom, it literally gives me the chills to imagine what that poor girl has been through.
On Tuesday night, the Division of Children and Family Services of Arkansas removed Jocelyn from her home after receiving complaints about the living conditions of the house (located on the Little Rock Air Force Base). Josh and Ebony were also arrested.
When you hear more about those "living conditions," you'll understand why.
According to the police report, which reads like the plot synopsis of a horror movie, "every room in the residence had human and dog feces on the floors, walls, and clothing. The house was full of flies and, in some areas, maggots." Evidence of synthetic marijuana was also discovered.
The home wasn't merely too filthy for human beings; animal control was called to rescue three dogs who'd been living with the family.
I can barely bring myself to picture this nightmare. Feces on every surface?? Swarms of flies and maggots? A house doesn't get like that overnight. Hell, a house doesn't get like that even if it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. What were Josh and Ebony doing on a daily basis that caused the level of decay and infestation in their home to reach such staggering proportions?
And, more to the point, what was Jocelyn doing in the meantime?
I just keep picturing her wandering around in a dirty diaper and nothing else, flies occasionally landing on her head, a glazed-over look in her eyes. How often was she fed? Was she sick?
Josh and Ebony were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug premise, unauthorized use of another's property to facilitate a crime, and possession of a controlled substance.
Josh's comment to reporters: "It was fair for them to charge us." But apparently the couple is already working to get the child back.
I'm all for second chances, and Josh and Ebony are very young. Still, I don't know what it would take to make me feel comfortable granting them custody of their child again.
Do you think Josh and Ebony deserve another chance with Jocelyn?

Teenagers should not be parents. They are children themselves and this post proves they didn't know how to clean up themselves never mind their own child.
If evidence of synthetic marijuna was found, then my guess was that they were smoking it and not looking after their kid...and that is how the house got like that.
Kids should NOT be having sex...parents should be taking a proactive stance in their children's lives...and the fact that we tout raising kids is hard, cooking real food is too hard, reading to your kids at night is too hard and spending five minutes with them is also too hard, is allowing kids to go out, get laid and find love elsewhere because they don't get it at home.
My heart breaks for that poor little one, and what's worse, those low life losers will get their kid back...and she will have to live like this all over again.
disgusting!!!
They always seemed like the least responsible to me, especially after I saw the where are they now special when he was already in the airforce and on a base.
I thought the same as Jasmine-they seemed to be doing really well, but that must have been fake. (reality tv faked, who would have thought it!) On that show they were semi-trying to get pregnant too-hopefully that doesn't happen for a long while!
The fact that they allowed a home on a military base to get that filthy is going to bring them even more issues too.
They where young when they had their baby .. and I do think they should get a second chance but they first need to attend parenting classes, have drug tests once or twice a month and have CPS come in and check up on them unannounced ... so yeah i agree with billsfan1104.
