Macy's Thanksgiving Day ParadeIt may be a day off, but with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airing on national TV on Thursday morning, your kids aren't going to let you sleep in.

The good news is they'll have something to keep them occupied -- and out of your hair -- while you start the turkey. The 84th annual parade is following the traditional theme of "Holiday Entertainment for Children Everywhere."

Want to ensure they stay in front of the TV so you don't accidentally spill a pot full of gravy on them while you're dashing around the kitchen? Print out this list of moments to keep an eye out for during the TV broadcast (NBC will start things off at 9 a.m. in every time zone) of the Thanksgiving Parade, and have them check off each one they see:

There are two new balloons this year, and they're both kiddie cult classics:

  • Kung Fu Panda
  • Dairy of a Wimpy Kid

Other favorite balloons in the list of 15 giants to watch out for:

  • Kermit the Frog
  • Snoopy
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Pikachu
  • Horton (the elephant)
  • Smurf
  • Shrek
  • Hello Kitty
  • Sailor Mickey
  • Spider-Man

With 27 floats, the parade will keep the kids transfixed. They should be able to find a favorite in this short list:

  • 123 Sesame Street
  • Castle of Dreams
  • Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure
  • International Cele-bear-ation Clock Tower
  • Jolly Polly Pirate Ship
  • Santa's Sleigh
  • Santaland Express
  • The Smurfs
  • Snoopy's Doghouse
  • Snow Queen

Other kid favorites slated to appear:

  • The Planet Earth Balloonicle will be escorted by the Samurai Power Rangers in their first appearance in the parade.
  • The Minions from the summer hit Despicable Me will appear on the Statue of Liberty float along with Miranda Cosgrove, who gave voice to Margo in the film.
  • More than 20 clown groups will walk the parade route.
  • Big Time Rush of Nickelodeon are part of the talent line-up and are expected to perform.
  • Victoria Justice, aka Tori Vega on Nickelodeon's Victorious, is slated to sing.

What are your kids looking forward to?
