Toddler Bait in Robbery: How Low Can You Go?

toddler used as bait in robberyListen carefully people: Toddlers are not to be used in any of the following:

  • Gate Crashing
  • Real Estate Negotiations
  • Husband Catching
  • Free Food/Medicine/Beverage Scamming
  • Divorce Litigation

and especially,

  • Robberies

Apparently a threesome in New York City did not get this memo, because that's exactly what happened last week in a Harlem apartment building.

As you can see in the video (the article goes back and forth between calling the child a baby and a toddler, but those long legs say toddler to me), a woman carried a toddler into an unlocked apartment building with two gunmen.

According to the victims, the woman holding the toddler rang the doorbell to a family's apartment. The 13-year-old son came to the door when he saw the lady holding the child and opened it up, as the two gunmen rushed in and proceeded to terrorize the adults and four children in the home.

As the father said, they didn't even have much money in the house. And the money they did have was supposed to pay for the rent and his children's school uniforms. The 13-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl were tied up by the gunmen, as were the man's two nieces who were in the home as well.

While police believe the team had the wrong house, the three adults and one toddler got away with everything the family had of any value. They escaped in a BMW.

I'm not sure which part of this story is the most disturbing. Oh wait, I do know. You brought a TODDLER to a robbery. While the family was horribly victimized, at least the children have their parents, who are equally concerned about the health and safety of the child of the people who robbed them.
