Stella McCartney, daughter of Beatle Paul McCartney and photographer Linda McCartney, went to public schools as a kid. Her parents wanted their children to be down to earth and "mix with ordinary children," and Stella, now a multimillionaire fashion designer, says it was "one of the best things that could have happened to me."
Despite that, Stella, who is pregnant with her fourth child, sends her kids -- Miller, 4, Beckett, 2, and Bailey, 3, to private schools. Miller attends a school in West London, where supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Elle Macpherson send their kids.
But Stella is really struggling with her decision.
'It's one of my biggest internal struggles -- the fact that my kids are going to a posh school. It freaks me out."
Stella isn't that snotty though: She'll pull the kids out of private school if they ever become too "posh."
"If at any stage it looks like they're becoming total jerks and saying 'hello mummy' in posh voices, instead of running in and just being their awful selves, then you have to knock it on the head," she says.
So why doesn't she just send her kids to public schools?
"It's not realistic to live in the country at this stage. I've got a business in London. I beat myself up about it all the time."
Apparently the public schools and "ordinary" kids in London aren't "posh" enough for Stella. Guess that public school education didn't succeed in making her very down to earth after all.

Really? You don't think it might be because of safety and privacy concerns? After all, what's the threat of kidnapping when you weigh it against being "too posh"?
Why should anyone feel obligated to send their kids to public schools? My parents were rather poor, never finished high school, and certainly never set foot in a private school as kids, but they sent their kids to a Lutheran school. They had their reasons. Who cares?
By the way, exactly what public school would you send your 2, 3, and 4 year olds to?
I think it's nice that she's even thinking about the pros of public school. She seems to have a balaned approach and I wouldn't be surprised if her kids grew up to be less judgmental than you.
I know parents who are struggling and scrape up the cash to pay for private school, and parents who have money to burn and their kids attend private. I don't question why the parents have decided public over private or vice versa - it's not my place to ask why. Though personally, I would be surprised to hear of a celeb who DOESN'T send their kid to private school, because like a prior poster said - security. When you're rich and famous, there are people who will covet what you have - as far as I'm concerned, a smaller, more exclusive school for their kids is a smart option.
Did you ever think she wants the best education for her kids and the schools by her wouldn't give that to them?
