Video Games Won't Hurt Kids' Sleep

Talk about conflicting messages. After an announcement that there will be a complete overhaul of the screen guidelines for kids comes news that we don't need to worry about our kids and video games.

At least, we don't have to worry that the Wii is keeping our kids awake.

I'm confused.

TV before bed is bad.

Video games before bed is good?

Aren't they the same thing?

A fair point -- the kids in the video game study were young teens and only gamed for 50 minutes. Which sounds completely atypical -- ahem, toddlers gaming for two hours.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children told ABC it's reworking the 14-year-old guidelines in order to give parents answers to the challenges of new technology.

Anyone else hoping that will include a deeper understanding of how they affect sleep?

health, sleep

WTFever. If your kid sleeps fine, great, if they don't, fix something... and I think it's silly to always assume that what works for one kid works for all kids. Some of these studies just seem ridiculous.
