I don't know about you, I've gone through the CPR certification process a couple of times and I didn't exactly find it ... an easy thing to learn. It's not THAT complicated, but the pressure is so intense: You mean somebody's life could depend on me remembering how many chest compressions in betwen breaths? And how many seconds is the breath supposed to last? Tilt the head and pinch the nose ... or is it tilt the nose and pinch the cheeks? No that doesn't make any sense ...

Anyway, you get the picture. Learning how to save a life is not child's play, people. Except in the case of this exceptionally precocious and ridiculously cute baby.

Apparently even celebs with a reputation for being "tough" are vulnerable to mommy guilt. Pop star Pink talks about her struggles with the "it's all my fault" feeling in the new issue of Glamour magazine, and it turns out rich and famous kids fall down just as often as any other tot. In fact, she says her “worst parenting moment” was when 2-year-old daughter Willow fell and got a concussion:

"That was the worst day of my life. And what do they say? 'Kids fall.' Welcome to parenthood. I thought, I can't handle this. I'm fitting her for a bubble." We've all been there!!

A tragic gun accident in Cumberland County, Kentucky, left a toddler dead. A 5-year-old boy shot and killed his 2-year-old sister with a .22 caliber rifle. Apparently the rifle was leaning in a corner while the children's mother was cleaning house. She stepped outside for a few minutes, which is when her son picked up the firearm and accidentally shot his sister.

It was the 5-year-old's gun, a Crickett "My First Rifle" he'd been given as a gift last year.

Sending kids off to school or dance class or camp when they're small can be scary because they're so vulnerable -- what if, God forbid, they should cross paths with an abusive teacher or coach? But I've found that sending tweens off to class can be just as nerve-wracking, and this video of a female dance instructor in China both verbally and physically assaulting her 13- and 14-year-old students explains why.

The worst part of the whole thing, in my opinion, is that even though the students are almost the same size as their horrible teacher and could conceivably fight back or at least leave the class, they don't -- they just take the abuse. Why? Because the teacher is an "authority figure." And while this is an extreme example of a very, very dysfunctional dynamic, a less hateful version of the same harassment could be happening to your kid right now.

It's a different world, I'll tell ya. With Facegram and Instabook and daily stories of horror and terror, it's hard to feel safe these days. Just like how our parents told us when we were younger, I'll tell my child eventually: It just felt safer when we were kids. That's why, according to my daughter at least, my parents were way cooler than I'll ever be as a parent. Here are 8 things my parents let me do when I was younger that my kids will never do. Sorry, little one. Them's the breaks.

Today in news that will scare new moms everywhere, two moms who ran a California daycare have been arrested. Their crime? The sisters were allegedly swaddling the babies wrong!

It was so bad that California authorities have charged Nazila Sharaf and Lida Sharaf, both moms who happen to be pregnant with their second children, with child abuse. Coming on the heels of a swaddling ban at daycares across the country, the news is enough to make moms wonder if they should give up on swaddling entirely. Is it too dangerous? Could the popular parenting technique land you in jail?

As a mom (and a human being in general), it's so important to take every necessary precaution to make sure we're staying safe on the road while driving our kids to and from a gazillion different activities on any given day of the week. But like most of us, I'm sure when you think of "car safety," things like following the speed limit, paying attention to the road, and being aware of your surroundings are what immediately comes to mind.

But believe it or not, all of those things are much less effective if you don't take care of one key area of your vehicle -- your tires.

And yes, I know what you're thinking, "Tires? What the hell do the tires on my car matter? As long as they get me from point A to point B, they're fine."

    WRONG. (So wrong.)

So I recently read a story by a mom who was afraid she'd turned her daughter into a hypochondriac by letting her watch too many TV medical dramas and shows about bizarre conditions, and I instantly knew exactly what she was talking about: My almost 12-year-old daughter is obsessed with crime shows like Law & Order: SVU and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. And at first, I was similarly concerned about the sometimes gruesome and probably inappropriate content and its potential to warp her still-developing mind. Should a tween girl have visions of dead hookers dancing in her head? Most likely not. But then something happened that put a completely different perspective on my daughter's TV viewing habits. Not only am I no longer concerned about her morbid fascination with crime shows, I'm HAPPY about it. Here's why:

A 15-month-old child died suddenly after trying to sleep with her mother. And you know where this story is going to go -- someone is going to blame co-sleeping. Mother Kristy Hainsborough was sleeping on a sofa; her husband was sleeping on another sofa with their daughters, toddler Sienna-Louise and her baby sister. Sienna-Louise apparently got up in the night and crawled under the duvet to sleep with her mother. Kristy found her near her feet the next morning, dead.

Investigators say Sienna-Louise died of sudden childhood death syndrome, which is much less common than sudden infant death syndrome. Coroner Paul Kelly says co-sleeping was "a factor" in that death. But isn't that going too far?

What would you do if your child were attacked by an alligator? Would you scream and panic, or would you jump in and fight off the beast? Six-year-old Joey Welch was getting ready for a canoe ride with his dad, Joseph, when he fell off the pier. Right after he splashed into the shallow water, Joseph heard a scream and saw that an alligator had Joey's arm in his jaws!

"I went in it and there was a splash. The alligator just swam into me and clamped my arm," Joey later said. Worse, the alligator started dragging Joey down into the water. How could Joseph free his son without risking tearing off the boy's arm?
