If you're planning a family trip to the shore or a resort this winter, there's a good chance your tween or teen daughter may be working up the nerve to ask if she can get a Brazilian wax.
More tweens and teen girls seem to be getting these barely-there removals lately -- this I know from my own real-life circle of moms with older girls.
Boy, oh, boy I can't even imagine how my mother would have reacted if I had requested one when I was a tween!
She and my father nearly had a heart attack when I came downstairs one morning and announced that I had gotten a tattoo, displaying the string-bean size green and brown snake on my bicep. OMG, It was fake! It took another 10 minutes to convince them I was only joking!
And I was 22!
Are Brazilian waxes inappropriate for young girls? Do you have one?

if you are old enough to get a brazilian and a bikini skimpy enough to require one, you are old enough to move out of my house.
A brazillian? You must be kidding. We all know the only reason you *really* get a brazillian...
My daughter is only 1 1/2 so we're nowhere near this issue yet. Good thing to because I'm really not sure what I think about it. I could *maybe* let her have a bikini wax but why can't she just shave like I did once things became "obvious" down there? Sure it's a lot of work but I think it's important to know how to maintain it yourself. Besides, even if I did say yes I wouldn't be paying for it.
If she prefers waxing to shaving, I don't see the problem. But I'm not paying for it. . . that shit's expensive.
I don't think that pubic hair sticking out of a swimsuit is appropriate at any age. Whatever method she chooses to correct the issue will be fine with me.
Let them do it once I bet they wont want to do it again.OUCH

wallylicious
I agree.
i would allow her to get a bit waxed off just so she didnt have hair hanging out the sides of a bathing suit. (and it is not too revealing just cuz u need hair removed i have to shave a bit off the side of mine and i like everything covered but im not going to wear pants to go swimming, did you ever consider some people might have more hair than you?)but i would not allow a full wax of everything off. she can do that at 18 if she wants but i won't pay for that
Ok... this is really not a response to the question (but I just have a son!)...
but I am VERY curious...
Would a salon actually do a brazilian on a young girl???
That just seems wrong !
I'm gonna be the one who gets shot here but...
If she wants to torture herself with getting hair ripped outta her body, especially in a sensitive area, I say go for it. Just be sure to laugh at her while she's walking like a crab for a few days.
(And, yes, I have a daughter and, yes, I would let her do it because if she's itching to do something stupid like that before she's ready, I say let her try it out and then poke fun about it while reminding her that it was her own choice. But, then again, my parenting is different... just like everyone else's)
I dont wax. I do shave & have been doing so since about 14 or so.... I think once the kid is old enough to drive herself to the app.. she can get it on her own.. age 16 is fine for me....
