These kids today and their YouTube celebrity prom invitations! Back in my day, we didn't have such newfangled ways to hit up hot famous people -- if only! Keanu Reeves and I would have had a lovely time slow dancing to Bon Jovi's "I'll Be There For You." Anyway. Perfect example of these kids today: High school senior Jake Davidson of Los Angeles, whose fondest desire is to take Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton to the prom. (Yeah, you and a billion other kids, buddy.) But what makes Jake different is the incredibly endearing nature of his particular YouTube invite. He doesn't pretend to be something he's not, and he very thoughtfully points out Upton's many attributes.
During an oh-so-manly shaving scene, Davidson announces: "I'm Jewish, 5'9" on a really good day and I can't dance at all. You're Christian, 5'10" and that 'Cat Daddy' video should've won an Oscar for Best Short Film. You could say this is destiny."
You know, I honestly could say this is destiny. Because this kid is funny as all get out. And if he were my son, I would be rooting for him all the way. C'mon, Kate -- just watch!!
Awwww! Don't you totally think Kate Upton should at least consider taking Jake Davidson to the prom?! Talk about setting a high standard. Also, insta-popularity in college!
Is this one of the more endearing celeb YouTube prom invites you've seen?
