Parents Who Find Man in Their Teen Daughter's Bedroom Get Him in a Headlock (VIDEO)

Attention sexual predators: Don't mess with Texas. An unidentified mother in Houston got the shock of her life when she walked into her 15-year-old daughter's bedroom to say goodnight and found a man standing there. Reportedly her daughter and the man, who had met the daughter online, had just finished having sex. After the mom confronted him and he tried to leave, the woman threatened to get her gun.

The mom says she told the man:

I told him, you know what I can do to you? I can get my gun and shoot you and nobody’s going to say anything to me because you are in my house.

Er, good thinking, mom. But not sure how that would have gone down in court. It turns out the man wasn't an intruder, but had snuck into the house after hours to have sex with the daughter, who had invited him in. Only since he's 21 and she's 15, this wasn't going to work out well for him either.

The mom decided to grab another weapon instead -- her husband, the girl's stepfather. She called him for help. He rushed into the room and got the guy into a headlock. He told news station KHOU:

[I put him in a] headlock and almost got him to the point of passing out. I told him, you don’t want it to get any worse, chill and just wait until the cops get here.

When cops arrived, the man was booked on sexual assault of a child charges. I'm glad the couple were able to keep their cool and not shoot the guy -- it could have turned out badly for them if they couldn't prove the guy had broken in or was threatening their daughter.

The parents say they are going to keep their daughter off the computer from now on. She's also "grounded indefinitely." All this time, they'd thought she was watching movies, but apparently the daughter and the man had been plotting their rendezvous for weeks. Says the step-dad: "All of a sudden, we’re coming out to this situation -- we’re like what the hell!"

What the hell indeed.

Editor's Note: According to Texas Penal Code, a property owner can use deadly force against a trespasser if the landowner reasonably believes the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means, or that the landowner himself would be exposed to substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury if the landowner does not use deadly force or if force is immediately necessary to prevent the trespasser's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime.  "Criminal mischief" includes "knowingly or intentionally damaging or destroying, tampering with or marking, inscribing slogans, drawing or painting on tangible property" of the property owner.

None of this quite describes the situation above.

What would you have done? Are you nervous about your teen being online?

.... of course they could have shot him. I'm guessing the author of the article is not from texas. We're a little more sane about things here. The man came into their home and raped their daughter (she is 15 and can not give consent. It's rape.) As long as he was still on their property they could shoot him. The way my hight school govt teacher explained it, if someone comes into your home without *your* permission, you can shoot them. But if they fall off your property you had better drag them back on or else you can go to jail.

Kiri what is with you and guns???  Are you a lawyer???

They could of shot him dead.  He broke into THEIR house.  He RAPED their daughter, and all you are worried about is that the mother threatened him with a gun.  FUcking A dude.  You have your priorities backasswards.

I don't think it would have been a problem if she shot him.  It doesn't matter if the daughter invited him.  SERIOUSLY?????  A GROWN man has NO idea it is illegal to have sex with a CHILD????

On the one hand, they were well within their rights to shoot him.. On the other.. buttsecks from bubba in prison sounds like a much more fitting punishment.

billsfan1104 (and everyone else who makes this mistake) - they could HAVE shot him dead - not could OF shot him dead.  When you're speaking, it sounds like "of", but it's "have" - could've - contraction of could and have.  Grammar lesson over.

Yep, he'd be dead - I walked in and found an intruder.  After I shot him, my daugther advised she invited him in.  Oopsies - my bad.  I forgot to ask first.

And, he didn't sneak in - my whore of a daughter invited him.  Now she gets tested for STDs and pregnancy and she goes absolutely nowhere but school w/o a parent until she's 18 - but at least her body isn't cut into tiny pieces out in the woods somewhere and I wonder for the rest of my life what happened to her.  So there's that.

This shouldn't be called rape. She was a willing participant. 6 years isn't that big of a difference.

Other than that, I agree with what else you said.
