Brave 17-Year-Old Risks His Life to Save a Woman He’s Never Met (VIDEO)

Inspiring 2

gunsI don't know about you, but it feels like we've been hearing a lot of bad things about these things called "teenagers" -- that recent story of a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old allegedly murdering a woman because she wouldn't give them cigarettes was one of the most heart-wrenching things I'd heard in a while. Then there are the Teen Moms, who don't do much to honor their age group, and, of course, the numerous stories about teens bullying each other to death never get easier to hear.

But! Today there is inspiring news in Teendom. A 17-year-old braved gunfire and almost certain death to save a woman he'd never met.

The situation in Syria is absolutely somber and humorless, which makes it all the more amazing that a young man could do something so courageous and selfless when all around him, things are falling apart. The teen had never met the woman who'd been shot down by snipers, but knew that if someone got to her, and fast, there'd be a chance she might live.

He risked everything to save a stranger and figured that if he died next to her, it'd be god's will.

I'm blown away by this kid's fearlessness and benevolence. Risking his own life to help someone unfamiliar, he put humanity first, which is something many of us should do more often. I'm sure he's wise beyond his 17 years, but this teen is doing his adolescent peers proud.

Sadly, the woman did not survive.

Watch his incredible story:

Has your teen ever surprised you with their kindness and humanitarianism?

'Teen moms that don't do much to honor their age group' ?? While the story is heart warming, this comment is just vile. Yes, some teen moms are screw ups.... But so are some moms in their 30-40's. I know some teenage moms that are absolutely amazing. You might want to watch how you comment in the future. These horrible teen moms could be raising future world leaders, or genius doctors. You never know.
