Let me just say: I like tattoos. I have tattoos. Which is precisely why I know how important it is to choose a tattoo wisely. Believe me, one minute you're sure you want some dude's initials inked on your ankle forever, the next you're trying to figure out how to turn those initials into a catchphrase you can stand to look at every day for the rest of your life. So while I've resigned myself to the fact that my kids will probably end up going under the needle at some point, I still hope against hope that they won't end up with some undeserving love interest's initials on their skin or, worse -- one of these monster-pieces.
Like this winner right here. I mean, skulls are cool. I got nothin' against goth. But I'm not sure about this skeleton grim reaper dude with little wings. I mean, why is he harvesting a garden of baby heads?
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that tattoo significantly narrowed down its owner's employment options. Just like these 5 terrible tattoos no mom would ever want to see on her teen's body.

A Harley Quinn tattoo would not be surprising on either of my children when they are older! We love all things Batman here! I dressed like Harley from the Arkham Asylum game for halloween last year. The kids were Batman and Batgirl and my husband was Joker. Just because you don't know what it is, odesn't mean its inappropriate!
I didnt click through this slideshow because I freakin HATE the slideshows...
But I will say that, since this author says she has tattoos, she's totally out of bounds commenting on ANYones tattoo ideas. That's not the point of having them. Personally, I'm covered in them and plan on having a full sleeve done soon after my son is born. I do not take anyone's opinion into account when putting something on MY body and I surely hope that this author felt the same way, otherwise she's missing the point of body art, period.
On the other hand, it would have been better to have a well written article about the importance of finding a good, clean, professional tattoo artist so that NO ONE, especially your kids, gets marked for life by some jailhouse crackhead for $30. And proper aftercare would be nice to talk about as well! I've seen plenty of decent work go to crap because people cant help but pick at them when they're healing.... Really? Psh!
I have had a tattoo since I was 13. I chose to go with a wolf howling on my ankle. I never regret it, its beautiful and easy to cover up for job purposes. I have been thinking about getting another tattoo for a while, but it definitely wont be any of those ones. Mostly because those ones are all the stuff you always see people getting. I like originality, which is why I designed my own. That way no one would ever have it but me.
