The new iPhone 5 is already flying off the shelves, making the rest of us wonder whether we should go out and buy it too. While early adopters and Apple fans will probably be lining up, I'm going to recommend holding off on your pre-order for one important reason.

And it's not Apple's fault. They're doing what they do best: producing phones people love and buy in droves. However, this phone is unusual in that it changes very little about the the traditional iPhone form but is very different in terms of compatibility and design.

Interestingly, the two new iPods launched, the Nano and the Touch, may be far more recommended for folks who just want a simple media player for the road. Here's what's up with all of Apple's new babies.

Taking a road trip and sitting in the car for hours upon hours can get pretty boring -- especially for young kids. Being strapped into a car seat with nothing to do is never fun, and that's why it's essential to make sure you have plenty of things packed to entertain your little ones while you're traveling from point A to point B.

And of course, the absolute best thing to entertain kids are gadgets that provide plenty of options for passing the time. I learned pretty early on in my son's life that car rides are much more pleasant when there's some sort of electronic involved -- which is probably why we have at least five or six along with us on any given trip. (You gotta have options, people.)

For any woman who has ever felt like a swipe of lipstick instantly brightens up her day or the perfect mascara makes her not only look but feel more awake, Sephora is the mothership of all beauty stores. It may sound silly, but whenever I go into that store or surf over to their website, I get the same butterflies a little kid might when entering Dylan's Candy Bar or a tech geek might upon arriving at Best Buy or the Apple Store. And now ... the shopping experience just got even more exciting. (I know, as if that were possible!)

The company, in an attempt to do a "social and mobile makeover" on itself, debuted a new website today that integrates Instagram and Pinterest. They also released a brand new and improved iOS app, and they'll be bringing iPads and iPod touch point-of-sale devices into at least 100 stores this year. Well, it's about time!

With the much-anticipated launch of the iPad 3, I thought it would be fun to highlight a few cool apps for busy moms. Everyone has their own favorites, but these are a few that my wife and I particularly enjoy.

Most of these apps work on iPads (including the latest model) and all of them are free or relatively inexpensive. They're a high-tech way to help your wee ones feel and act better -- and some of these tools may replace cumbersome notebooks and guides.

No one ever said marriage was easy, but it seems like it's gotten even more difficult in the Internet age. Especially for people who like to play online role playing games (RPGs) ... You know, like World of Warcraft or even SIMS. Turns out spending a significant portion of your free time in a fictional online world isn't exactly doing your relationship any wonders ... drrr.

A study from Brigham Young University found that 75 percent of spouses married to people who play role-playing games online wish that their gaming guru sweeties spent less time playing and more time working on the relationship. BUT -- in couples where both spouses were gaming nerds into RPGs, 76 percent thought that gaming had a positive effect for their marriage. Well, yeah!

This isn't only true for partners who play online or regular video games. It extends to all manner of gadgets, web habits, and cellphones.

I guess it was inevitable: In the wake of The New York Times expose on the horrifying working conditions for Apple-product factories, people are talking about a boycott. The LA Times, Forbes, Daily Beast, and other major media outlets are daring to ask the question, should we be boycotting Apple?

So far the boycott has been mostly talk. The only organized effort I've found so far is this Boycott Apple Facebook page. Any other efforts to boycott have been too small and under-the-radar to make much of a difference, yet. But for those of us who are deeply concerned about these working conditions, is a boycott even the best strategy?

This expose The New York Times is doing on working conditions for people who make Apple products is totally killing my iBuzz. For those of us who adore Apple products, there's a visceral thrill in using them: They're aesthetically refined, intuitive, almost seamless ... oh listen to me. If this sort of ga-ga Apple worship is gross, just skip on ahead to where I talk about the horrible iPad factory explosion.

Sigh. So remember when Apple computers used to all come with that cute "Made in Cuptertino, California" note? Now most Apple products are made in China -- and in what reporters are saying are grim mega-factories of the sort Americans would never tolerate. It's so gruesome, it's sapping my enjoyment of using the Apple products we own.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is the biggest gadget show in the world, featuring miles and miles of some of the coolest gizmos you've ever seen. This year there were plenty of cool things for parents, and I wanted to highlight a few just for fun.

It's barely been three months since Apple icon Steve Jobs lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. But the Chinese company InIcons has already decided to immortalize the man behind all things iPhone and iPad by creating a lifelike collectible Steve Jobs "action figure" that is set to premiere next month and retail for $99.99. Sadly, this is no joke.

The foot-tall figurine is decked out in the typical Steve Jobs outfit -- you know, black turtleneck, rimless glasses, and jeans. And will reportedly come with a stool and a backdrop that reads “One More Thing..." which references the catchphrase Jobs would use at press events where he'd debut the latest Apple gadget. So far, it doesn't sound like InIcons has any plans to include a mini iPad or iPhone with the plastic version of Jobs, but who knows if that could be a follow-up product?! Ugh! With hope, the company won't have the opportunity to, because Apple will crush this before it becomes a reality!

In all the various retrospectives of 2011, remembering Steve Jobs and all of his amazing accomplishments is a common theme. His iPads and iPhones have made their way into even more hands over the holidays, but now, we know we can credit his products with actually saving Christmas this year!

See, a 20-year-old guy named Patrick Krewson, who seems to fancy himself something of a Wet Bandit (a la Home Alone), broke into a Los Angeles-area home on Christmas eve and stole the family's gifts, including an iPad. The family called the cops, and they initially couldn't find any leads ... until the victim called the police department to say that tracking software on the iPad indicated it was only a few doors away. Yup, if you're a victim of electronics burglary, there's an app for that: Find My iPad, which saved Christmas Day for this family ... and another family!
