When it comes to picking a password, you have to be careful these days. Not only does pretty much our whole life require a password now -- everything from our email to our bank accounts to our credit card accounts to our Facebook and Twitter to handheld devices -- it seems to be easier than ever for hackers to get ahold of them. So it's pretty bizarre that so many people are still so cavalier about their passwords. Can you believe that one of the most popular passwords every year is "password"? And if it's not that, then it's 123456? C'mon, people! Okay, a few of you got creative and used "password1." Eye ... roll.

But you'd be surprised to hear that some of the most common passwords are pretty unique. I would have thought some of these would be unguessable, but apparently not.

It's hard to imagine a world without email. It's pretty much our main way of communicating these days. You don't call a business to file a complaint anymore, you email them. You don't stop by your friend's house to show her photos of your kids (that's crazy!), you email her. And if you work in an office, odds are there are days where you send and receive up to 100 emails a day.

But some emails are better than others. Some emails you open and you chuckle to yourself, because they're funny and well thought-out. Other emails, not so much. Other emails make you want to hit delete delete delete, because they're so annoying!

Here are 5 incredibly obnoxious email habits we've surely all been on the receiving end of ... and on the sending end, too. Don't lie.

Patience is a virtue and unfortunately it's one I don't have. I could really use it though. As a writer, I spend most of my days waiting on people to get back to my emails. As I wait for people to respond to me, I can usually be found clawing at my thigh like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, hissing, "I won't be ignored, Dan!" Only, I don't usually say "Dan." Unless I'm waiting on an email from Dan.

Getting worked up while waiting for email responses isn't a good idea. By the time someone gets back to you, you can lose sight of the fact that they answered your email and get caught up in how long it took to answer. And that can make you snippy. All in all, it's best to be patient when waiting on emails. Great gods of Gmail, it's freaking hard though! Whether you're waiting on a response from your boss, your husband, your kids, your kids' teachers, whomever, it's not fun. Here are five things you can do to make the wait more tolerable.

It's bad enough when a guy dumps you, but when he does it by email! Ohh! Ouch! But email is reportedly how that perenially classy guy John Mayer chose to shed Katy Perry after two months of dating. Says one of those trusty sources to US Weekly magazine:

He dumped her over email. She was furious and really hurt. She was into him, but he wasn’t feeling it.

Anyone else getting the feeling that John Mayer needs some ther-a-py aysap? Cause he can't find anyone -- not Katy, not Jen Aniston, not Taylor Swift, not Jessica Simpson -- that he "feels" it with. John either needs to date outside of the Hollywood pool or the XX chromosome pool, and I'm not sure which one. Maybe both.

That said, heave-ho'ing someone by email is normally considered a cowardly, lame move. But there are six times it's okay to e-dump someone.

Yesterday, I wrote about STFUParents and my view that some of the postings were an invasion of privacy. Many disagreed with me, contending that anything on the Internet is public. However, if that were true, I would write the sequel to the bestselling book Go the F-ck to Sleep. Because that book began as a joke on the author's Facebook page. Maybe Adam Mansbach won't mind. Hey, Adam, it was on your Facebook page! It's mine now, allllll mine. Bwahaha.

Apparently some people -- like the coughSan Diego Padrescough -- think that emails too should be sent around for mass consumption. When the baseball team got an angry email from frustrated job seeker Taylor Grey Meyer, they decided to circulate it.

At one time or another, most of us have had nude pictures of ourselves stolen from our cellphones and leaked to the press. Haha. No, not really. Most of us don't have to worry about the public wanting to see us in the buff. That just happens to gorgeous, famous people like Scarlett Johansson. But many of us have had the experience of someone getting into our email, or checking our text messages -- or even spreading our compromising photos or emails. ScarJo has apparently become so paranoid after a hacker stole nude photos of her and leaked them online that she reportedly goes out of her way not to use technology at all anymore. Word has it she even makes her boyfriend, Nate Taylor, contact her through her assistant. No sexting for Nate!

There's been so much speculation about the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, and so many different and wild stories going around every day, that it's good to know we finally have a glimpse of the REAL story. For instance, did you know that Kristen sent Rob flowers after the scandal broke? And did you know that Charlize Theron lost her cool with Kristen for ruining their chances at a Snow White sequel? And that Justin Bieber tried to comfort KStew with the news that Rob cheated first -- with Katy Perry? Oh, to be Kristen Stewart's drama-filled Gmail inbox after Cheatgate!

Well, okay, maybe, just maybe the hacked contents of the inbox are fake. (For those of you who haven't had your coffee yet, this means they ARE fake.) But they're pretty funny nonetheless. And, heck, who knows, maybe a few of these fake emails are close to what is really in KStew's inbox. Here are some highlights:

Have you ever sent an email and literally a half second later thought, "Oh sh*t, did I send that to the wrong person?!" Depending on what was in the message, that mistake could cause you BIG TROUBLE. Then you're left doing major damage control.

Well, imagine if the message was sent to the wrong person and it's not even your fault. That's what happened to a bunch of Skype users whose instant messages appeared in the wrong inboxes because of a mystery bug. Microsoft said they plan to send out a software update to fix the glitch.

This one can't be blamed on human error, but there are tons of embarrassing messaging mistakes that are. Here are 5 common email, IM, and text blunders and how to avoid them.

It seems every week hackers are breaking into people's online accounts, stealing their passwords, and posting them online. Hackers do this, they claim, because they want to show which companies have lax security. And, I'm guessing, they are very bored. Anyway, the latest major breach of online security comes from Yahoo, where almost half a million people had their email accounts broken into, and their passwords and identification information posted online. However, leaked passwords apparently also included domains from Gmail, AOL, and Hotmail.

When I first read that Samantha Brick, the average-looking writer who is infamous for saying she's so beautiful that other women hate her, checks all of her husband's accounts on a daily basis, my first thoughts were: Controlling. Distrusting. Coo-coo! But then I thought more about it. And somewhat reluctantly, I came to think, Well, why not? Says Samantha:

As far as I’m concerned, my husband’s emails, voicemails, and texts aren’t just his business — they’re mine, too.

Samantha claims she doesn't do this because she distrusts her hubby, oh no. It's because she doesn't trust women.
