Vine is the latest video-sharing app to hit the iPhone and it's pretty amazing. Whereas most social video apps force you to think of video as a two-minute endeavor involving titles, a three-act action sequence, and credits, Vine is quick and dirty: you take videos of up to six seconds. The videos loop endlessly when you view them later and you can stop and start the recording of a new video just by tapping the screen. This lets you take quick shots from multiple angles or even make simple animations.

In short, it's my favorite video app right now. Here's why.

It's Thanksgiving! Hooray for thankfulness, gorging on food, spending time with loved ones, and gazing fondly at your well-behaved children as they engage in quiet, polite conversation while sitting peacefully and -- what's that? Your kids have been feral monsters all morning and you're about to cram them in a gravy boat if they don't stop galloping back and forth in front of the football game? Ah, you've come to the right place, then. If you're looking for a little child-related distraction in the form of mobile gameplay, I've got some fantastic suggestions for you.

Sometimes you just need to plug a kid in front of a smartphone or tablet for a half hour or so in order to reclaim your sanity, am I right? But it's also fun to sit down and play games together as a family, so what I've got for you is a list of my top 5 favorite mobile games that my kids and I BOTH love. Check it out:

It seems like every day we hear stories of horrible things happening to our kids. From missing children to terrible car accidents caused by teens texting and driving, the world is a dangerous place. How can we keep our kids safe?

According to the folks at Snapchat, their iPhone/Android app is all about making social media fun again. How does it accomplish this goal? By letting users send photos to each other -- then deleting those images mere seconds after they're viewed.

You might wonder why you'd bother sending a photo to someone in the first place if you wanted it to self-destruct. Well, you might have taken an unflattering photo, or you might want the freedom of knowing the image isn't going to be shared outside your conversation.

Or, you know, you might be sending out a picture of your genitalia. In theory, this would've been a great application for Anthony Weiner -- but 1) it's marketed for teens, and 2) it's not exactly bulletproof.

As if the dark underbelly of the Internet weren't already sketchy enough, now, if you want to find all the "sexy pics" your friends have on Facebook, there's an app for that.

Badabing! trolls your Facebook friends' pictures looking for skin. That means any pictures you've put of your kids on the beach, or in bathing suits, or in the bath tub, or just riding a bike in shorts and a tank top, are easier to pull out. And easier for pedophiles and other perverts to find. I'm so grossed out.

Every year at Halloween, I'm consistently blown away by what some people will let their kids get away with when they trick or treat. Or worse, what they will do to get their hands on some free candy.

So parents, pay attention, and please don't do these annoying things to your kids on Halloween.

It seems like there's an app for everything these days. Need to determine a paint color from nothing but a flower petal? Done! Find the best Indian restaurant in a three mile radius with reservations for tonght? You got it! Track your dreams, food intake and footsteps? Easy-peasy.

But, how about the apps you really need? The ones that would make parenting easier? Below are ten apps I dream of ...

If Facebook is about anything, it's about "sharing" and CHANGE. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse (Facebook, I told not to give out my number!). But here's a Facebook change I do like: They're going to share fewer embarrassing details about you.

In particular, Facebook is going to stop telling on you every time you read some tabloid gossip, or watch that leaked sex video, or buy yet another vibrator. Goodbye autoshares! Facebook is pulling back on "frictionless sharing" -- you know, when they surprise you by sharing what you've been up to online. No more surprises. They'll only share what you expressly say you want to share. And there's more.

Everybody has their ideal Christian Grey in their mind. Some think of him as a tall guy with dark hair and light eyes, others envision him as a dark-skinned muscular dude with a beard. Different strokes. But if you want to see what "your" Christian Grey actually looks like, now you can, just by simply answering a few naughty questions.

The app is called "Fifty Faces of Grey", and it generates your "dream man" for you on your iPhone. This strapping dude to your left is who I got. Umm ... yeah ... Nothing like a man in a-- is that an ascot? Is that Adam Scott?

Anyway, we had some fun with this app here at The Stir headquarters -- check out some of our Christian Greys. And find out who yours is!
