Have all of your Facebook friends suddenly turned into giraffes? Are they endangered now? Did a celebrity adopt one as a pet and now it’s the vogue thing to pay tribute to safari animals in your avatar? Are you confused?
Have no fear -- I have figured out why giraffes have taken over Facebook. It’s apparently a game in which users post a riddle to their wall and ask their friends to answer it via private message. If they answer wrong, then they have to change their profile picture to a giraffe.
Here’s the riddle:
3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors. It's your parents and they are there for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?
There are apparently two acceptable answers -- your eyes or the door. I said wine, and totally stand by it, because if my parents were knocking on my door at 3 am, I probably would open the wine before I opened my eyes or the door.
The giraffes have nothing to do with the riddle, but they’re pretty darn funny animals, so why not?
