A Cheaper iPhone May Be Coming Soon but It Looks Like a Child's Toy

iphoneEvery day there's a new iPhone rumor. Is it coming out this week? Will the price be reduced? Will mini hands emerge from the screen and give your texting fingers a massage? To those questions, I can say this: No. I don't know. And probably not. But I do have an interesting tidbit of information for you: After years of speculation, looks like there may be a cheaper iPhone on the market at some point in the near future. And it's actually quite heinous.

A Chinese site called WeiPhone recently posted a photo of candy-colored iPhones, claiming that the phones in the picture are a new, more affordable iPhone. According to Jeremy Horwitz at iLounge, there is a possibility of a new iPhone, and it would maybe be a "cross between the iPhone 5, fifth-generation iPod touch, and ... wait for it ... the iPod classic." Weird. But what I really can't get past is the ugly pastel plastic covers that make it look like a child's toy. If this is true, why, Apple, why?

Heinousness aside, I do think it's about time that Apple offer a more affordable version of the highly-coveted iPhone. When you think about it, $500 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a smartphone -- even if you have the cash. But bring on the cases! This thing ought to be covered up!

Would you like to see a more affordable iPhone?

i would say from that picture the colors are neon not pastel. I like the colors way better than the standard white of an iphone.

you can buy cell phone covers if you don't like the color... an affordable iPhone is worth a little color inconvenience imo
