See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
Have you heard? A "study" just came out, concluding that people like Facebook more than sex. I'm both surprised/totally not surprised all at once. It doesn't take a PhD to know that social media is to people as false eyelashes are to Kardashians. We can't stay away! But to choose a perfunctory perusal of your newsfeed (where the same people are writing the same things) over sex? Um, weird.
Social media is cool, but it isn't the be all end all, people! There are still things in this world that are much more fun -- and satisfying -- than Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram. And here are six of those things.
Eating an ice cream cone. Come on, who doesn't love eating? Judging from all the photos of people's dinners and homemade strawberry preserves on Facebook, I'm thinking no one. But you know what's so much cooler than posting photos of food online? Ingesting it! Especially when said food has sprinkles.
Drinking red wine. Same. Wouldn't you rather be dancing to some old school Mariah Carey while wearing lens-less glasses and a tie around your head? That's classic fun right there! Brought to you by red wine!
Being at a park. So, there's this thing. It's called "outside". You should try it. It feels a little weird at first, all that fresh air and everything, but after a few minutes, you're used to it. And don't worry, you most likely will be able to find a spot that gets WiFi.
Swimming in the ocean. Don't live near an ocean? Or you do and it's 40 degrees out? An indoor pool will do just fine. You definitely won't get WiFi in a pool, though. Well, maybe you will, but you might die if you try to check Facebook underwater.
Talking. Like, to other people. With your actual voice. In person. I know, it's unconventional, but give it a go. If you don't like it, you can stop. Start by opening your mouth and making a "Hhhhh" sound. Then follow with "I". H-hh-iii. You got it! You don't like it? All right, you can go back to texting.
Sex. Come on, people. Really?
Are you addicted to social media?
