Gangnam styleIf you were to ask me which video would climb up the YouTube ranks faster than Rebecca Black's "Friday" or Justin Bieber's "Baby" -- a Korean pop song called "Gangnam Style" would definitely not have been my initial answer. But it seems "Gangnam Style" is taking over the YouTube world, with more than 100 million views, and is breaking records left and right.

The guy behind "Gangnam Style," a funny Korean rapper named Psy, wears crazy outfits, has hilarious dance moves (like riding on an invisible horse), pokes fun at the Gangnam district -- essentially the 90210 area of Seoul -- and has Koreans everywhere, myself included, completely and utterly bewildered by his success.

You've gotta watch it if you haven't seen it yet. It's funny, weird, sexy, catchy, silly, stupid, and entertaining -- all at the same time. I really have no words to explain this video ... or why people are becoming so obsessed with it!

And there you have it. One of the most popular YouTube videos in the history of YouTube. A Korean pop song. I love it.

You're going to be glad you've heard of Psy and "Gangnam Style," because Psy is now signed to Scooter's Schoolboy Records label -- who's signed Carly Rae Jepsen -- and Island Records -- who's signed big name stars like Bieber and Mariah Carey.

He's also going to perform at the VMAs on Thursday night, and that's something that I just got to see. I have a feeling Psy will soon take over the pop culture scene, kind of like "Call Me Maybe" -- and I'm completely stoked. It'll be fun, at least for this Korean, to watch everyone on this side of the globe hop on the Korean wave.

If you're curious, here's a link out to the translation of the song. And, of course, with this kind of popularity, parodies are bound to pop up: This is my favorite one, Chatroulette Gangnam-style:

How a Korean rapper was able to find success by riding an imaginary horse and brandishing an imaginary lasso is beyond me. But somehow he makes it cool, even sexy, and I can't wait to dance "Gangnam Style" at my next party.

Now what else can I listen to in order to get "Eeeeeeh, sexy lady!!" out of my head?!

Have you heard of "Gangnam Style"? Can you believe how successful it's become?
