Oh, happy day! It's the first day of spring, and it actually feels like spring. There's a palpable merriment in the air; I'm wearing flip-flops; and I even treated myself to an iced coffee on the way into the office this morning. Life's good. Oh, and I don't even mind being trapped indoors all day today, strapped in front of a computer, because, guess what? Today's Google Doodle pays homage to spring. That totally is just as good as being outside!
The design comes to us from Finnish fashion house Marimekko, and what is it exactly, you ask? Well, if you don't want to take a leisurely spring stroll on over to the Google homepage to find out for yourself, I'll just tell you: It's a bunch of flowers. Obvs. Spring. Duh.
They're lovely and bright, just like all things Marimekko, but honestly, they don't appear to spell out the word "Google" at all. They just look like, well, a bunch of flowers. But spelling out the word doesn't really matter anymore, right? I mean, think about the Les Paul Google Doodle? Or the one commemorating Constantin Brancusi's birth? Or the one no one could figure out? Google Doodles have just become, well, doodles.
Regardless. Who cares? It's spring! And if you're one of the unlucky ones who can't be outside enjoying this glorious day, why not bring the season inside. The way everything's brought inside. Through Google.
