It's not clear where the rumor started, but over the past couple of days, there's been mass speculation that Beyonce is about to have ... or already had ... or is currently having her first baby. The birth rumors have reached a serious fever pitch. And sure, I'm stoked for her and Jay-Z, too, but do we really need to be stalking the Internet 24/7 to get confirmation of the happy news? Apparently ... yes, yes, we do. Or at least that's what the creators of a rather hilarious website believe.
The site is supposedly "tracking" the status of Beyonce's baby. There, you'll get up-to-the-minute, breaking info on whether or not the baby has been born! Just go to ... IsBabyonceBornYet.com ... Ha! Joke's on you. Yeah, but you know you deserve it for being that curious, right?
This website says so much about how the Internet has spoiled our attention spans!
This week, it's Beyonce's baby. Next week, if she has the baby, it'll be someone else's baby ... or drug bust ... or sex scandal ... or dream wedding (probably a lot of those comin' down the pipeline, given all the recent celeb engagements we're also obsessed with right now!).
Hey, I am totally guilty of it, too, don't get me wrong. But when we fall victim to something like IsBabyonceBornYet.com, we've just gotta laugh at ourselves for thinking we can get the latest info with a click. Like we can almost make the news happen by stalking around on Facebook and Twitter and Google ... because if we're searching for it, it should have happened already, darnit!
It's kind of a wake-up call that we need to collectively take a deep breath, back away from our computers and iPads and iPhones just for a bit, and let the world unfold as it's going to. Or at least, let babies be born when they're going to! After all, our insatiable appetite for celeb news isn't going to make "Babyonce" come out any faster!
Did IsBabyonceBornYet.com make you giggle? Do you agree the Internet has made us way too antsy about up-to-the-minute news?
