ipadHey, here's something you shouldn't do -- buy an iPad out of a McDonald's parking lot. For $180. Without seeing if it works first. Yeah, that would be really dumb.

But, hey, look at that, some woman did it. Yeah, she was approached by two dudes post-midday Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. They offered to sell her the Apple product for a measly $300. She only had a measly $180, though. But they sold it to her anyway!

Nope, nothing fishy going on there.

Turns out the iPad was actually a block of wood. In a Fed-Ex box. And the crooks even painted a screen and some fake icons on the block so that it would look like the real deal. (If she chose to take it out of the box.) They claimed they bought them in bulk and were selling them at a discount.

So, this is what it's come to, huh? A world where people are willing to shell out just under $200 so they can tote around something with an Apple on it? Does Apple really have that much of a strong-hold over us? Has Steve Jobs been Jedi-mind controlling us for the past 10 years or so? What has happened?!

I mean, think about it. What other product would get people to take part in such a shady deal? Panasonic? Pshh. Sony? Laughable! Dell? HA. HA. HA. Apple -- and only Apple -- could do this.

Which is why these guys were selling fake iPads. They knew nothing else had the ability to turn a person into a gullible idiot so quickly. It's the only product that would make people bite. An Apple.

Would you buy an "iPad" out of a FedEx box in a McDonald's parking lot without looking at it first?
