We Tried It

Remember a couple years ago when we told you about the cupcake ATM that was supposed to be arriving in New York City? The first one went up in Beverly Hills with the promise of another on this coast. And so I waited. And I waited. And I waited. At last, the blessed day arrived. I woke up to the sound of angels singing yesterday morning and didn't understand why until I read the news: The Sprinkles cupcake ATM had finally opened in New York. At last! And because this was clearly very important news, I made a beeline for the ATM to give it a try myself.

Breaking news, ladies. Well, maybe not breaking for all of you, but for some of you, this is definitely breaking news. And it's weird. Did you know that nipple cream is one of the best lip balms out there? It's true! Mason jar terrariums look like a really fun way to bring a miniature piece of nature inside. After researching many of the pins I saw on Pinterest showing how to put something like this together, I decided to give it a try.

All the materials you need to complete this project can be found at a craft store or in your own home. I grabbed a mason jar, pebbles, dirt, moss and a couple fun figurines and got to work!

I've been obsessed with my eyes lately. Too much winter, too much stress, and not enough sleep are all taking their toll, and now I have Tired Mom Eyes. You know what I'm talking about -- puffy eyes. Eyes with dark circles under them. Eyes that look like they're slowly sliding down your face. Eyes that need a break. What to do -- besides the obvious: Get more sleep and go on vacation. (BWA HA HA!) I asked around for some tips, and then I tried a few products myself to see what works. After exhaustive trials -- as in, I'm always exhausted and my life is a trial -- these are the fixes we recommend.

Smartphones. For all the amazing benefits they provide, they are also responsible for an international epidemic. We can't put them down no matter what is going on. In one particularly startling case, a man was shot on a commuter  train and no one looked up from their phones. I think it's crazy and clearly I'm not alone. I hear about more and more people going on "cell phone diets." And companies are even getting on the purge: Giorgio Armani pledge to donate clean water for a day to children in need if a people could stay off their smartphones for 10 minutes. So I decided to give it a try. I went without my cell phone for 24 hours and I'll be honest, it wasn't pretty.

St. Patrick's Day, birthday parties, and spring on its way are all great reasons to celebrate with rainbow decor! I went to Pinterest to find out how people are using rainbows to brighten even the dreariest of day and found these clever rainbow goodie bags.

The idea is to layer candy from every color of the rainbow over gold colored candy for the perfect rainbow treat.

While I think these candy-filled rainbow goodie bags could make anyone happy all year long, I wasn't sure how easy it would be to maintain that layered rainbow look.
