Awards shows are typically such a snore. The boring speeches peppered with names nobody knows, the cheesy music, the canned humor ... wake me up when it's over. Unless, of course, you're talking about the WWE's annual Slammy Awards, where anything can -- and will -- happen!

Even though some viewers complained that this year's ceremony was boring, how boring can an evening of wrestling stars in outrageous costumes making spectacles of themselves really be? I'll take the Slammys over the Grammys anytime. Here are four reasons why ...

I know wrestlers are all tough and make mean faces and sometimes they smash up parts of their bodies pretty seriously, but all in all, I'd have to say wrestling is kind of ... silly. Right? It's like slapstick, starring a cast of extremely colorful (if intimidating) characters.

So it's kind of perfect that some of the most colorful characters I can think of will be on WWE Raw this Monday (Halloween!): The Muppets! Think about it. They're loud, they're crazy, they're unpredictable ... who am I talking about, the Muppets or the wrestlers? BOTH! That's why this should be a match made in sports heaven.

Speaking of matches, I don't think any Muppets are actually getting in the ring, but if they did, which would emerge victorious? Here are my outcome predictions for 5 Fantasy Muppet Match-Ups ...

It's not all that uncommon for a major pop star to hook up with a baseball player. Just look at Madonna and A-Rod. Or even Madonna and Jose Canseco! He claims she had a thing for him a few years back. But it seems like Canseco prefers the Mother Monster to Madge. Prefers is actually putting it lightly. Judging from the wacky baseball player-turned-fighter's Twitter last night, Canseco is actually sort of ... infatuated with Lady Gaga.

The Jeep veered over the raised concrete median divider, crossed over the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a tree. He did not survive.As soon as the news of the accident hit Twitter, he became a trending topic. While plenty of fans expressed their sorrow over his passing, a seemingly equal number of people naturally figured his death made a great opportunity to hone their amateur-hour comedy skills.
