So there most definitely are perks to working on the Internet -- mostly that you don't have to worry about screwing up on live TV, and that things can be changed or deleted rather easily and immediately. That's probably what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was thinking when he was giving his pre-game report for Sunday night's Packers vs. Texans showdown.

For whatever reason -- whether it was deliberate or not remains to be seen (though you have to admit the aim was pretty spot on) -- a football comes flying from off-screen and nails poor Rapoport right in the face. And the way he reacted to what happened certainly wasn't the way most of us would have. Poor guy. Ah, the joys of live TV. And being able to see it on the Internet the next day. Ain't life grand?

Jerry Sandusky arriving for sentencingThe day has finally come: Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was sentenced Tuesday morning to 30 to 60 years in prison for doing disgusting, terrible things to young, innocent boys. Though it means that the 68-year-old would die in prison, my initial thought was: That's it? You could potentially only get 30 years of prison time even though you're guilty on 45 counts of child abuse? He was actually facing up to 400 years behind bars, but if there's a silver lining, it's that he can serve no less than 30 years. At least he'll never be free.

This guy, a jury decided, had abused 10 young disadvantaged boys. He used his position of authority at Penn State and his charity, the Second Mile, to get close to his victims. And even with evidence and testimony against him, he remained defiant. I'm sure 30 years seem like nothing compared to what he's taken away from these boys.

Ryan Lochte is taking over. Seriously. He's going to take over everything. He's already taken over the Olympics. Then it will be reality TV (The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars and his own show). Then unwatchable tween TV shows (90210). Then the fashion world. And now shows that are actually kind of good -- like 30 Rock.

Jack Burditt, a writer for the show, tweeted a photo of Lochte hanging out with Tina Fey. It's the final season of 30 Rock, and I guess they're pulling out all the stops with celebrity guest appearances. Just didn't think Lochte had the acting chops for this kind of programming, but -- jeah for him!

I told you. He's everywhere. And I for one can't wait to see how he does on 30 Rock and if he can pull off this cameo.

How can you not like Gabby Douglas? Seriously! You must be a little messed up in the head if you haven't embraced this 16-year-old gymnast and how well she's represented the good ol' U. S. of A. But her recent interview with Oprah showed just how close she was to quitting before achieving her dream.

As a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. women's gymnastics team, Gabby spoke with Oprah about the challenges she faced to get to where she is today. She confessed that one of the reasons she wanted to leave Virginia to train was because she felt that she was getting picked on.

But this is part of the reason I love sports: No matter what color you are, sports are a fantastic equalizer. As long as you're talented and work hard, you can overcome, just like Gabby did. Though she felt bullied and picked on when she was younger, she still came out a champion. There's definitely no better way to shut them up!

Jeez, friends, what is it about Ryan Lochte? It seems that he is taking over the world recently. The Olympic medalist will be making a cameo appearance on 90210, a show I was surprised to learn is still producing new episodes, and he's gunning to be featured on Dancing With the Stars as well as The Bachelor. I mean, he's super hot, he's famous ... why not?

Luckily for the entire world, there's some hilariously awkward footage of Ryan filming his cameo appearance on 90210 and his reaction to how, like, difficult acting can, like, really, like, be. Then, as he spoke about how he wishes the people from The Bachelor would just cast him already, we get a ridiculously cheesy one-liner that will hopefully help producers figure out that the show could actually be full of pure comedic gold.

In a recent interview with track star Lolo Jones on the Today show, she broke down in tears over her fourth-place finish in Tuesday's 100-meter hurdles final. She also had some choice words for her critics who "ripped [her] to shreds" right before she competed.

You may think she's just another athlete whose complaints are sour grapes. But she was specifically referring to a piece in The New York Times came out that questioned whether Jones was overhyped and undertalented. It compared her to Anna Kournikova, the former tennis player who never won a WTA title. They implied that Anna was known more for her image and her sexy looks, and that her talent was meaningless, if not nonexistent.

I can't imagine reading this would have any effect on the outcome of her race, but it's a shame that the NYT did this to Lolo.

Well ... this is probably not the way the New York Knicks wanted their off-season to go. Veteran point guard Jason Kidd, 39, signed on with the Knicks earlier this month from the Dallas Mavericks. I guess he celebrated his $9.5 million contract a little too hard by drinking and then driving his 2010 Cadillac Escalade off the road and 25 feet into a wooded area, snapping a utility pole.

He "smelled heavily of an alcoholic beverage," was "very unsteady on his feet," and "did not know what happened," according to the police report. After being arrested by Southampton Town police, he was charged with the DUI and he refused to take a blood test at the hospital.

Luckily he was alone and no one was hurt. But yeesh, especially in light of the news that star point guard Jeremy Lin may be let go, this means the Knicks have a heck of a lot to figure out! Let's delve into it, shall we?

The OTHER Gerry SanduskyI think I'd be feeling pretty perturbed if I were the parents of Gerry Sandusky. I mean, how much more could fate be working against you that you just so happened to name your kid the exact same name as Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State football coach recently convicted of serial child sexual abuse.

Gerry Sandusky, a broadcaster fro the Baltimore Ravens, has the unfortunate burden of sharing the same name as one of America's most despised villains. And evidence of unnecessary harassment was written all over his Twitter page.

Some of the tweets CNN reported are ruthless and sad ... all intended for another man. Poor Gerry! Take a look:

Well here's one of the most awful things you're going to see all day. It looks like a junior hockey coach in Vancouver may have tripped a 13-year-old boy on the opposing team during the handshake! The UBC Hornets coach, Martin Tremblay, had just led his team to a 5-4 victory. He claims he slipped, which caused the Richmond Steel kid to fall (and it looks like he inadvertently makes a second boy fall down as well). But after watching the tape, I'm kind of finding that pretty hard to believe.

Not only that, the first child he allegedly tripped suffered from a broken wrist and will have to be in a cast for two weeks.

On top of that, after the folks in the stands saw what happened, of course they started yelling at Tremblay. His response? He gave everyone in attendance the finger.

What the heck? After watching the video, you can see why so many parents of the Richmond Steel team are outraged and are calling for this coach's suspension!

Ugh, could this scandal with disgraced Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky get any worse? Oh wait, it has, ever since his son, Matt, 33, came out and admitted that his own father abused him as well. And now, in a 29-minute taped interview with police just before his foster father's trial, he described how he was allegedly molested from ages 8 to 15. NBC aired part of the tape on the Today show for all of us to hear. So ... yeah. It's getting worse.

Matt Sandusky was adopted at age 18 by Jerry and his wife Dottie after living with them as a foster child; he first met Sandusky as a 7-year-old through the Second Mile, Sandusky's charity for underprivileged children. He must have felt a whirlwind of emotion on Friday when his father was convicted on 45 charges linked to the sexual abuse of 10 boys. Especially since these boys' stories of abuse were so similar to his own.
