Wow, what a crazy, sad ending to this whole Lance Armstrong saga. After winning all of our hearts (who didn't own one of those yellow LIVESTRONG bracelets?) by defying all the odds, beating cancer, and going on to win seven Tour de France titles, he's now being stripped of those titles and banned from the sport for the rest of his life by the USADA. He's also disqualified from all competitive results obtained on and since August 1, 1998. He'll have to give up his medals, titles, winnings, finishes, points, and prizes.

Now that the USADA has stripped Armstrong of everything he's worked for, due to charges of consuming performance enhancing dugs, I'm experiencing a multitude of feelings, especially as a fan who once really believed in him. He was an easy guy to cheer for, and looking back, it's difficult to believe that in one day, the USADA has essentially taken away and eliminated his entire, storied career.

Ryan LochteYou guys, it's official: Ryan Lochte is taking over. Everything. It seems that ever since the 28-year-old upset Michael Phelps in that first Olympic race, the men's 400 IM final, we simply can't get enough of him. Not only is he an 11-time Olympic medalist, he's ridiculously good-looking too. Hell, this guy has made headlines for admitting to peeing in the pool.

From starting his own clothing line to talks about making apperances on The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars to numerous video parodies to creating his own language ... we thought we'd do a quick roundup of the ways Ryan is planning on continuing to invade all of our lives post-Olympics. OMG, I think we've got the next Kim Kardashian on our hands! I'm just waiting for the sex tape. Seriously, take a look and see for yourself.

In a recent interview with track star Lolo Jones on the Today show, she broke down in tears over her fourth-place finish in Tuesday's 100-meter hurdles final. She also had some choice words for her critics who "ripped [her] to shreds" right before she competed.

You may think she's just another athlete whose complaints are sour grapes. But she was specifically referring to a piece in The New York Times came out that questioned whether Jones was overhyped and undertalented. It compared her to Anna Kournikova, the former tennis player who never won a WTA title. They implied that Anna was known more for her image and her sexy looks, and that her talent was meaningless, if not nonexistent.

I can't imagine reading this would have any effect on the outcome of her race, but it's a shame that the NYT did this to Lolo.

Can I get this out of the way in light of what's happened with 16-year-old Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen? I'm well aware that women are just as capable as men in many, many aspects. There are tons of badass female Olympians who are so much fun to cheer for. That said, there are some sports where I expect the men to outperform us ladies. It's, like, nature, right? Like in track & field. Weightlifting. Cycling. And I used to think swimming ... until recently.

In the women's 400-meter IM, Shiwen won the gold medal and beat the world record by one second. But it was the last quarter of the contest -- during the freestyle -- that thrust her into the spotlight. Shiwen pretty much went stroke-for-stroke with Lochte (he won the same event earlier) ... and then she beat Lochte's pace in the final 50 meters! She swam it in 28.93 to Lochte's 29.10.

Voula PapachristouSo here's something you probably never saw coming. An Olympian, Greece's triple jumper Voula Papachristou, was booted from the Games all due to ... a social media gaffe. It's hard to believe she thought she could get away with it in the first place, but she probably didn't think they'd ever go so far as to expel her from the Olympics entirely.

Here's her Tweet: "With so many Africans in Greece... the West Nile mosquitoes will at least eat homemade food!!!"

Ugh. She obviously has the freedom to say whatever she wants to say. She just better be prepared to deal with what comes afterward, especially as an athlete on the world stage. Greece's Olympic Committee says her Tweet was "contrary to the values and ideas of the Olympic movement." And I for one am glad they did what they did. Competing in the Games and representing your country is a privilege and not something that should ever be taken lightly.

Who would have thought a couple seconds of dancing would make you the next Internet sensation? That's what happened with Australian runner Michelle Jenneke, who did a "sexy dance" before competing in the hurdles at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona.

I'm not gonna lie. The girl is fine. Many of us would kill for those abs. And it's great seeing an athlete warm up in such a fun, casual manner. It was an original way to stand out, that's for sure!

Of course, this brings up the inevitable debate of whether we're sexualizing female athletes or if this is empowering them, blah blah ... eh, who cares! This girl's happiness is contagious, and it's great to see someone who loves what they're doing. And not only that, she won the race!

So many people have been eagerly awaiting the Belmont Stakes 2012 in the hopes of seeing I'll Have Another become the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years. But just when we were about to break out the fancy hors d'ouevres & cocktails for the big race, the news broke yesterday that the party is officially over -- because I'll Have Another is going into retirement.

His trainer, Doug O'Neill, sadly announced that his beloved horse has tendinitis in his left leg, and it just isn't worth having him run and risk a potentially life threatening injury just to take home the Triple Crown winner title. And while the decision was no doubt a painful one for O'Neill, I'll Have Another's owners, and of course, jockey Mario Gutierrez -- they absolutely did the right thing. (For the horse and their bank accounts.)

And they're off! Tomorrow's Belmont Stakes will be one of the most anxiously watched races ever, with I'll Have Another poised to be the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978 -- 1978!! Can you believe it? Eleven horses have come thisclose to achieving the ultimate feat in racing since then (winning both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness) but not a single one has conquered all three.

I'll Have Another could be just hours away from making horse racing history!

Unless, of course, the Belmont track proves to be his downfall, as with so many others. What makes this track so tricky?

Claire LomasNow here's a story that'll make you feel supremely guilty about how lazy you are when it comes to any form of long-distance running (or maybe that's just me?). Claire Lomas, 32, finished the London Marathon in a bionic suit, 16 days after she first started. Oh, and she is paralyzed from the chest down.

She walked in the suit two miles a day to complete the 26.2-mile race. Her husband, Dan, walked behind her during the whole thing, and her parents and 1-year-old daughter also joined her through most of her journey. Watching Claire cross the finish line has seriously inspired me to dust off my running shoes. I act like I'm having a wheezing heart attack after going two miles on two good legs.

She has made history too -- she became the first person to complete a marathon using a bionic ReWalk suit. Wow, what an inspiring woman! Talk about someone who defied all the odds and made her dream a reality.

And ... they're off! Well, almost. The 138th Kentucky Derby is tomorrow, so mix up those mint juleps and get your racing form ready! What's that you say? You can't place your bets because you don't know anything about the horses this year?

Don't worry -- we can help you out with that one. Well, as much as anybody can help anybody out with gambling, which is, you know, unpredictable. That's why they call it gambling.

Anyway, as far as we can tell, these are the top 3 horses to watch in the 2012 Run for the Roses:
