Okay, I admit, I watched a season of Dancing With the Stars solely because my favorite athlete Hines Ward was a contestant. And he ended up winning the whole shebang! Just like his NFL comrade Donald Driver -- a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers -- who took home the mirror ball trophy in the most recent season.
But that got me thinking -- there are so many athletes who are fantastic on the show. Perhaps all their athletic training and natural coordination give them a leg up on the rest of their competition? That's probably a given, seeing as athletes like Kristi Yamaguchi, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castronoves, Shawn Johnson, and Emmitt Smith have all won in previous seasons. Many athletes have been runners-up, too.
