Whenever a story makes the headlines, folks across this great country of ours are forced to ask an inevitable question: When will the movie come out? Believe it or not, this question actually applies to Joe Paterno and the scandal at Penn State, and the potential film is garnering even more press because a famous actor has just put his hat into the ring as the guy who could pull off playing Paterno: Al Pacino.

From a purely cinematic perspective -- Al could certainly pull this off. They have a similar look and, with some prosthesis and a large pair of sunglasses, it may be a little bit eerie how perfect Pacino could be for the role. (Though I hate to say it, but Joe Pesci was the first actor who came to my mind when I initially read this report.)

But of course the other perspective begs the question: Is it too soon to even be talking about this?

Well, here's a video that's going to make you feel guilty about not going to the gym today. If you haven't been keeping up with the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games, which have been taking place between August 29 and September 9, I suggest you check out some of these amazing athletes. To get you even more pumped, Samsung put together some clips of the athletes training and getting ready for the Games. It's truly awe-inspiring.

And it's not only the athletes who pour their heart and soul into their sport -- it's the coaches too. Even in this brief 1-minute, 36-second montage, you see how the coaches are there to push, yell, encourage, support, and care for their athletes. It really is a special bond, and you can't help but respect and cheer for everyone who's involved in these Games. I only wish they all got the same hype (and air-time!) as the Olympics.

A high school football coach in Georgia is in pretty hot water after one of his player's parents accused him of sending some pretty naughty text messages to her. Coach Michael Carson was suspended by Martin Luther King Jr. High School after a confrontation went down at a football game last weekend.

Davida Bishop, the mother of two players on the football team, apparently showed some other folks at the stadium nude photos of Coach Carson, which he apparently sent to her via text. And if her claims are true, unfortunately for Carson, she had no interest in seeing him in the buff. (Oops.)

A new biography simply called Paterno is being released about the life of former Penn State coach Joe Paterno, and already there seems to be some sort of cry for people to feel sorry for him because of how he reacted after being fired from the university. According to the book's author, Joe Posnanski, "Joe Paterno sobbed uncontrollably" after the phone call came that he'd lost his beloved job.

He apparently said, "I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself." He then told his son, Jay, "I have spent my whole life trying to make that name mean something. And now it’s gone."

(Oh, please. Cry me a river.)

As if the entire Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal wasn't horrific enough, Penn State University is now being subjected to the ultimate punishment from the NCAA, who just gave Penn State a $60 million fine and a four-year postseason ban. The football program has also been stripped of all wins from 1998-2011, which is definitely a huge blow to all of the athletes who proudly played for the team during those years.

And aside from making all of those players feel like every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears was all for nothing, current and future football players at Penn State are also being penalized for crimes that they had absolutely nothing to do with.

It's GONE. The famous Joe Paterno statue was removed from its place of honor on a pedestal outside the football stadium at Penn State in the wee hours of the morning today. Despite weeks of controversy over the statue that sprung up in the wake of allegations that the late football coach was heavily involved in a cover-up of Jerry Sandusky's child abuses, the whole removal process was reportedly smooth.

Of course that could be because Penn State President Rodney Erickson waited until AFTER the 7-foot, 900-pound bronze statue of the football coach had been yanked to announce it was going. The crew showed up at dawn; his announcement came at 7 a.m. Only 100 or so students even knew it was happening, and they stood outside chanting "We Are Penn State."

So much for a new era of transparency at Penn State, huh?

A couple of students at Penn State University are hell bent and determined to protect Joe Paterno's legacy, and that's why they have started a vigil to protect the famous Joe Paterno statue on campus from being vandalized or taken down.

The two students, who are both seniors, Mike Elliot and Kevin Berkon, became worried after a plane flew over Penn State earlier this week with a banner that read, "Take the statue down or we will."

And I can't help but wonder if either of these guys realizes exactly what they're doing, because by protecting that statue, they are basically excusing the fact that Joe Paterno did absolutely nothing to help those poor boys who were abused by Sandusky.

In the middle of all the sickening details that have come out during the Jerry Sandusky scandal, a smaller controversy is brewing. This one is over the bronze statue of Penn State's former football head coach Joe Paterno. Paterno is one of the many prominent people in the university's athletic department who for years apparently helped cover up Sandusky's horrifying molestation and rape of young boys he was supposed to be mentoring.

The debate is over whether Penn State should get rid of the Joe Paterno statue outside the football stadium on campus or keep it. The answer is that they're going to keep it -- at least for now. And for the umpteenth time throughout this whole mess, they've done the wrong thing.

Even though Jerry Sandusky is behind bars and can thankfully never sexually abuse another child ever again, the negative effects of what went on between him and his victims at Penn State will never be forgotten -- and the school will likely never shake its connection to the infamous scandal.

And even though many fans had probably hoped Joe Paterno's reputation would be upheld in the wake of the Sandusky guilty verdict, an investigation has proven both the university and Paterno failed to protect the victims in the case.

Former FBI director Louis Freeh issued a report that said:

Our most saddening and sobering finding is the total disregard for the safety and welfare of Sandusky’s child victims by the most senior leaders at Penn State. The most powerful men at Penn State failed to take any steps for 14 years to protect the children who Sandusky victimized.

Well here's one of the most awful things you're going to see all day. It looks like a junior hockey coach in Vancouver may have tripped a 13-year-old boy on the opposing team during the handshake! The UBC Hornets coach, Martin Tremblay, had just led his team to a 5-4 victory. He claims he slipped, which caused the Richmond Steel kid to fall (and it looks like he inadvertently makes a second boy fall down as well). But after watching the tape, I'm kind of finding that pretty hard to believe.

Not only that, the first child he allegedly tripped suffered from a broken wrist and will have to be in a cast for two weeks.

On top of that, after the folks in the stands saw what happened, of course they started yelling at Tremblay. His response? He gave everyone in attendance the finger.

What the heck? After watching the video, you can see why so many parents of the Richmond Steel team are outraged and are calling for this coach's suspension!
