Are you prepared to feel wholly inadequate about your Halloween costume this year? Take heart, no one does it better than Paralympic athlete Josh Sundquist. His costumes are funny, inspiring, and so freakin' creative, it's really hard to think of anything that can remotely compare to his genius. And I'm not exaggerating.
Josh is a former Paralympic skier who had his left leg amputated when he was 9 years old due to bone cancer. If you hadn't heard of him before, you're going to be extremely glad that you do now. I mean, just look at this! How in the hell is he holding himself up like that?! It's mind-blowing and AWESOME. Sorry, my thesaurus goes out the window when I witness a feat like this. Not only is this flamingo costume probably one of the best things I've ever seen on the Internet, last year he dressed up as the lamp from A Christmas Story. And, yes, that's another must-see.
For some background on this oh so very interesting man, Josh is a member of the US Amputee Soccer Team as well as a motivational speaker, bestselling author, YouTube personality, and founder of LessThanFour.org, the world's largest social network for amputees. Now all I really want is Josh to be my best friend. I don't even care that he had to shave his leg to pull off his epic lamp costume:
For Halloween, I dressed as a leg lamp. I had to shave my leg, but I think it was worth it. RT if you agree. pic.twitter.com/Fi0otUo4— Josh Sundquist (@JoshSundquist) October 29, 2012
Here are some of his other classics. How great is that gingerbread man??
Josh represented the U.S. Paralympic Ski Team in slalom and giant slalom back in 2006. He may not have gotten a medal in Turin, but his attitude and creativity will definitely put him in the well-deserved spotlight.
Kind of puts Heidi Klum's and Kim Kardashian's elaborate costumes from Halloweens past to shame, huh?
I still don't know how he holds his body in that flamingo position without falling flat on his face. Super strong in both mind and body ... that's exactly what this photo represents! Josh, you are fantastic, and an inspiration, and I for one will never complain about anything ever, ever again.
Isn't this the best Halloween costume you've ever seen? What are you going to be this year?
