Olympic Athlete Suzy Favor Hamilton Says She Lived a Double Life as a Prostitute

Normally when you hear about a "call girl scandal", it's because some guy -- usually a married politician -- is caught with his pants down patronizing prostitutes. It's not too often that the call girl scandal is instead a married Olympic track star who is also a $600-an-hour call girl. I mean, I don't think you ever hear that. But we do now.

Olympic track star Suzy Favor Hamilton admitted to having a double life as a married mother and Las Vegas call girl. And if the Lifetime channel hasn't opted this story yet, I'd be shocked. Anyway, let's find out what the heck is going on here ...

Suzy has competed as a track star three times in the Olympics, though she didn't bring home any medals. She has, however, won seven U.S. national titles and filmed a Nike commercial.

But at some point, she began going off track. The Smoking Gun first identified the woman known as "Kelly Lundy" in various call girl ads as Suzy. Then she admitted it and explained herself on Twitter

I was drawn to escorting in large part because it provided many coping mechanisms for me when I was going through a very challenging time with my marriage and my life. It provided an escape from a life that I was struggling in. It was a double life.

Suzy is married to her college sweetheart and they have a 7-year-old daughter. Apparently her husband knew what was going on but didn't like it and kept trying to get her to stop.

Here's my two cents as to why Suzy lived this double life to deal with her marriage and life. As a professional athlete, Suzy has spent most of her life having complete control over her body and mind. You don't get to that level of competitiveness without having a lot of self-discipline.

So when things got messy in her marriage and her life, and she felt she had no control over that, she went a little cray. She craved more control -- especially over men -- and being a prostitute is one way to have control over men. Also, running gives the brain a dopamine high and so can sex. She reportedly described her call girl life as "exciting" and a break from her routine, hum-drum life as a wife and real estate broker in Madison, Wisconsin. Being a call girl was, in a way, a replacement for her exciting days as an Olympian.

But she must have been conflicted about the path she chose, because reportedly she told some of her johns her real name -- a big sign that she wanted to get caught.

What do you think made Suzy become a prostitute?

It is a fun way to either be a fantasy, or your true self, with guys that are from all walks of life, successful if they can afford $600 for an hour. Many people find being or seeing escorts to be some of the best intimacy (more than sex) ever.

Probably won't find a boyfriend there but often great friend develop. There are a lot worse jobs, and few better paying ($200K a year)

Now, I'm curious, did she ever say that this involved SEX? In fresno, ca there are a few escort servies. They are for dates that men can bring to office parties, company on a trip that they don't have anyone else to take with them on, etc.

Now, I don't delude myself, and think that no call girl has sex for money. Of course some do. And I'm not against prostitution at all.

But you're talking about taking control of men sexually, and I don't know (or care enough to bother googling) that she ever had sex with them.
