I have to admit, when I first heard that New York Jets player Tim Tebow may consider running for office someday, my immediate thought was that this was some sort of joke. I mean, being a quarterback and handling political matters are two totally different things, but it sounds like standing behind a podium in front of crowds doesn't bother Tebow one bit.
In an interview with Rich Cimini from ESPN New York, Tim made the following statement about his potential future in politics:
Whatever avenue I feel like I can make a difference in, I'd love to do. I haven't ruled out anything like that. It won't be anytime soon in my future, but it'll be something I'll at least look at and consider one day.
And while I'm guessing he's talking about running for mayor or another smaller-scale position -- doesn't "Tim Tebow for President" have kind of a nice ring to it? For whatever reason, I'm lovin' the idea of seeing him hit the campaign trail down the road -- and he'd definitely secure my vote.
Hey -- don't laugh. There are plenty of great reasons why Tim Tebow deserves a vote for President, or any other political office for that matter.
Will you vote for Tim Tebow if he ever runs for office?
