OMG

Shirt Mocking Jerry Sandusky's Victims Is Disgusting at Best

by Mary Fischer on September 5, 2012 at 4:11 PM

ohio state shirtWow. I mean -- WOW. Have you by any chance seen this offensive Ohio State t-shirt that takes a stab at the victims of the Jerry Sandusky scandal? Take a closer look -- and no, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. The shirt reads: "I'd rather shower at Penn State than cheer for the Wolverines."

Seriously? Who in their right mind thought something like this would be perceived as humorous?

The shirt was obviously intended to be appealing to crazy-obsessed fans who will go to any lengths to voice their disgust for the Wolverines. But whoever created the shirt obviously didn't take into consideration how something like this might be terribly offensive to the poor victims who WERE forced to shower at Penn State and have unspeakable acts committed against them by Jerry Sandusky -- when they were just KIDS.

Before I rant and rave any further, let me just say that I get sports rivalries -- I really do. As an alumni of the University of Tennessee, I'll tell you first hand that we've said some pretty shady stuff about University of Florida fans -- but there's no way we'd ever take that rivalry this far.

No matter how much you love your football team, there's a certain level of decency that should be exercised, especially in the case of something as horrific as what occurred at Penn State. And whoever decided to make this shirt could definitely use a lesson in basic respect -- which is something that every human being deserves.

Do you think this shirt took things too far?

Talk about low class trash! That's exactly what any person who would even think its a good idea to wear this would be. Absolutely disgusting and thoughtless!

I want to throw up and cry. How anyone could think its funny to joke about the abuse of children at the hands of a sexual predator is beyond me. Who ever made this shirt should lose their job and the college needs to step up and say they are not OK with this. This is just wrong on so many levels.

Screw you if you can't take a joke!!  This shirt is friggan hilarous.  Kind of like the old "I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother on a Honda!"

Let those who wear said shirt be rewarded by a mandatory shower with Jerry Sandusky. Maybe they would then start thinking (if they are capable of such action).

It was probably a student who came up with this. Its a joke. Ohio State was not the only one who has made Sandusky jokes. Look at what Ohio University Bobcats came up with last week for their game against Penn State!
